Game opened as a pick, now UGA is -1 or -1-

I went to UT-Buffalo game last week and also watched it on TV when I got home. I did not see UGA play Cowbell, so maybe I am missing something.

Tennessee cannot run the football. It doesn't matter whether or not the hole is there because Tauren Poole looks like a ballet dancer. He wants to turn everything to the outside, which is all well and good against Buffalo; but will NOT work in the SEC. I think UGA will double Da'Rick Rogers and we will see just how much the loss of Justin Hunter is going to hurt. Tennessee is going to have to get the ball to their TE Rivera to be successful. Zach Rogers sucks, but De'Anthony Arnett has shown promise. I just don't know if he can do that week in and week out.

Defensively, the young Vols continue to give up big plays, at least 2-3 per game. With Murray being able to run, this is going to cause big problems. The secondary blows, with the exception of Prentiss Waggner, and will be forced to play zone. Murray seems good enough to where they should find holes and go 5-8 yards at a time.

Palardy has given no one any reason to believe that he can make a FG in a crucial situation. His long this year is 37, and let's just say it ain't pretty when he kicks. He can barely get the ball to the 10 yard line on kickoffs, that is, if he doesn't kick it out of bounds.

As if Palardy wasn't bad enough, P Matt Darr is worse. The Vols are 116th in the country in punting and that includes blocked punts in back to back games.

The one thing I am optimistic about is freshman specialist, Devrin Young. He was a step away from running his first punt back for a TD, and started the 2nd half with a 35 yard return. He did fumble late, and drop a screen pass, but considering it was his first game; I was pleased.

I need to hear from some of you UGA guys, because I won a bunch of money last year on this game, and I have no reason to believe I shouldn't take the Dawgs again.

Seems like an easy UGA win which usually means just the opposite. Aside from Boise UGA's D has given up I think 14(21 if you count SC recovering ball at the 2), 0, 10, and 3 in their last 4 games. We get in trouble when we are forced to throw and have to rely on the o-line. It is starting to come together for Crowell and they are starting to feed him, especially early. Aside from Mitchell we do not have any deep threats as King has proven a huge disappointment thus far. We do have maybe 2 of the top 5 tight ends in the nation however and Murray has started getting them involved much more. I think given the scenario you laid out and the inability of Tenn on offense at this point that Richts game plan will be much like the previous games which is grind it out, throw a lot of intermediate passes to TE's and every once in a while go up top to Mitchell. I think this line and total for that matter have a lot to do with the last couple of trips for us up to Knoxville as well as the perception of UGA based on their 0-2 start. The one thing that does scare me (though the loss of Hunter may off-set it) is the loss of starting OLB Washington that further depletes the already very thin linebacking corps. Bray can have a lot of success if he is willing to be patient and take what is given. If he gets greedy though the veteran DB's will make him pay.
IMO the best play is the Under as I see one side that will be trying not to lose it on offense and another that may not have the fire power to make a lot happen. Barring special team scores and pic sixes and such, I see this as a 24-17 type of game. I think Georgia wins, but would be lying if I said I was as confident as the under. GL

Thanks UGA, Bray is going to make plays, but he will also make a mistake or two. He cannot afford to do that in this game. To me, unless the Vols defense can create some turnovers, I cannot see this young defense getting off the field enough. If we Herman Lathers, it would make me feel a helluva lot better.

Pretty good breakdown of both of your teams. Agree with both and that Under is probably the best pick of the 4 options. GL
