8-3 YTD +$485 on Vols games
Vols (10-11) @ UsucK (21-1)
Line: Kats -16-
O/U: 131
Vols - Winless on the road
Kats - Undefeated at home
The line is a little high to me, although when you haven't won a road game all year and you are facing a team with the nation's longest home winning streak, it may be right on. I don't think this will be blowout city like it was last week at Memorial, but I think the Kats will push the tempo a little more this time around.
I know there are many that may say, "Well that was Jarnell Stokes first game" but it was also at home. He played very well, yet Kidd-Gilchrist and Davis still combined for 35 points and 20 boards. Kidd-Gilchrist was the star with six offensive rebounds, and making 8 of 12 from the FT line. Another big factor was Terrance Jones getting into foul trouble and basically becoming a non-factor in that game.
I see Calamari telling Jones to try and get in Stokes head tonight by talking it up. Jones is a punk and a clown, but could give the big guy some trouble as Stokes continues to mature. Doron Lamb and Darius Miller both had sub-par games in Knoxville by only combining for 8 points, on 2-11 shooting. I don't think we will see that tonight.
The one improvement Tennessee has made since the last game is the fact that they have been using their bigs to draw a double team in order to find open outside shots. The big key is being able to knock down those outside shots in a tough road environment.
I am still not sure on the line, but have a feeling the under streak ends tonight for the Vols at Rupp. I am going to see how the line moves today, but will take the over for sure.
