Make the effort. It's a good thing.

A citizen of America will cross the ocean to fight for democracy, but won't cross the street to vote in a national election.

Democracy is the recurrent suspicion that more than half of the people are right more than half the time.

Abraham Lincoln:
- Elections belong to the people. It is their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.

H.L. Mencken:
- Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.
- Democracy is the art of running the circus from the monkey cage.

Great post djv, regardless of your party please get out there and cast your vote. If you don't vote, how in the hell can you gripe about anything regarding politics. Negative ads suck, but it seems to be a way to get to the simple folks who don't understand the issues and vote with their emotions instead of their mind.

GLTA....get out there!!!!

If they legalize the weed, would that mean it would be sold in stores, next to the cigarette,& beer sections?

Here is how it reads.......

Shall the Nevada Constitution be amended to allow the use and possesion of marijuana by persons aged 21 years or older
(like alcohol) to require the Legislature to provide penalties for using, distributing, selling or possesing marijuana under certain circumstances and to provide a system of regulation for the cultivation, taxation, sale & distribution of marijuana.

Tax revs would help Nevada BIGTIME & save alot of $$ that is wasted on arresting/prosecuting folks with a couple of Js on them.

What you think ?

Prostitution and pot are legal in Amsterdam and the crime rate is non-existant. Might not work in Nevada but you would feel better about everything. :D :weed: :D

Legalized Marijuana gets a 'No' Vote

Legalized Marijuana gets a 'No' Vote

(Nov. 5 ) -- Nevada voters have defeated a proposed constitutional amendment to let adults possess up to three ounces of marijuana for personal use. Question Nine was backed by a group
called Nevadans for Responsible Law Enforcement. It would have made Nevada's pot laws the most liberal in the nation.

The conservative trend is evident tonight on two controversial ballot measures. Question 2 --Nevadans voted to amend their state constitution to ban gay marriages. Question 9 -- voters snuffed out the proposed legalization of possession of up to three ounces of marijuana.

Time to get this economy rolling again with a big fat Tax Cut!!!!

Republicans take over!!!

Send the poverty pimps back home!!!

Time to restore the American Dream and give EVERYone a chance to make it big in this country and ENABLE them instead of disable them by keeping them down and inspiring hate against anyone who is successful......

Give the people some $$ in their pockets so that we can spend it and get this economy going again......such a relief!!!!

It's odd that you would make those comments about giving everyone a chance since the party that took over doesn't give a flying fu ck about people you make less than 300k a year.

thats exactly the kind of rhetoric used by liberals to stir up hate against anyone who is successful....unbelievable.....those who make 300+ per year are taxed almost half of their income.....such a disincentive to be successful.....plus it takes money directly out of the economy.....and that money could be spent on products which stimulates job growth and productivitiy....and guess who now benefits???

answer: we ALL do.....

the liberal would like you to believe that economics is a zero sum game.....someone wins, everyone else loses....but that is garbage.....everyone can win and we all can profit when spending increases....everyone wins when we all work and are productive....the net sum becomes increasingly positive....

JT you are correct. The vote to give Bush a chance is what he wanted. Hes got two years. First two have only been so/so. We had one tax cut. Another may help. Or we could go in the hole so deep it will kill the low interest rates. We will see if they want to help the real little guy with a little bumb in the minium wage. Heck the level is at poverty. Believe some folks on S/S get more or as much. Need to let folks make the money thay wish. I agree make all you can. But when you have large companies paying CEO's over 25 mill a year. Well those are the stocks you should not buy. And when sport idols or stars are payed that or more. That is the ticket you should not buy.

I can't believe this made the ballot

I can't believe this made the ballot

Well in FL we've banned smoking in just about every where except "stand-alone bars"(no food) and passed the below amendment which I cannot understand. Looks like the bacon will have more rights than people.

Inhumane treatment of animals is a concern of Florida citizens; to prevent cruelty to animals and as recommended by The Humane Society of the United States, no person shall confine a pig during pregnancy in a cage, crate or other enclosure, or tether a pregnant pig, on a farm so that the pig is prevented from turning around freely, except for veterinary purposes and during the prebirthing period; provides definitions, penalties, and an effective date.

Really frustrated with the results yesterday.

Look for the new Senate to illegalize off-shore betting by July 1.

The house will continue to hammer this bill, til the Senate passes it.

Hope your all happy.
