That Matchplay tournament was something else. No wonder it's in my top 3 every year. It was obvious to me that after round 1, Poulter and Casey were the guys to beat. Even after I wrote negative feelings about Poulter. I take it all back, he's a winner in the USA. What a show. It was really fun to watch.

On to this week. Phoenix. I went to this tournament in 1969, 40 years ago. Before you had to pack a handgun everywhere in and around Phoenix. IMO, one of the most dangerous places on earth.

They say. Who's they? They say this is a putters tournament to win. I say, you still have to get the ball on the green, then putt. My mix for this week looked like Kuchar again 41.00, Gay 36.00, Hoffman 81.00, Zach Johnson 36.00, and Watney 34.00. And Holmes is still on fire too, 25.00. Those guys.

I do some research, as I always do, after capping with my system, and find out that the concensus for this week is Kuchar, Gay, Hoffman, Zach, and Watney. Or roughly those guys. I hate this. It counterfeits all my work. I could get these picks off the PGA website, and save a lot of time. This has been happening to me more and more lately. It's obvious we are weighting our selections more or less the same. I don't like to be anti, just to be anti. That's counterproductive. I do like to win. But I liked it better when I lined up with no one and still won. that's really fun.

This week---

Zach Johnson to win 35.00--How boring is this. Me and 5000 other guys have picked Zach to win. Why? Simple really. He's good, very good. He doesn't get rattled or openly frustrated. He putts extremely well. He plays this layout well. He's due. He will win this year, more than once. He's in fairly good form, and overall, he's a good bet. More later.

Kuchar over Perry -110

Almost all the stat catagories favor Perry, he's only played twice this year though, and last week was one and done. Kuchar has already won a million bucks this year, Kenny, 200k. This is strictly a hot , young guy versus a little active, old guy play. It wouldn't surprise me to see Kuchar finish in the top 5, and Perry in the top 10. But I really think Matt wins this m/u.

I really, really, really wanted to fade Weekley this week. Against almost anyone. But nooooo. Not listed in the m/u's. My book says no soup for me.

Holmes 20-1 win, 10-1 place, 5-1 show

Villegas 30-1 win, 15-1 place, 7 1/2 show

Gay 30-1 win, 15-1 place, 7 1/2 show

Hoffman 80-1 win, 40-1 place, 20-1 show

I've got a good feeling about Hoffman.

Good luck to all!

Round 1 play (4pts):

Robert Allenby to beat Geoff Ogilvy +110 @ Carib [also available @ Paddy Power]
Surprisingly large odds considering I'd make Allenby the favourite in this matchup. He has been much more consistent this year with finishes of 2nd, 9th and 27th on the PGA Tour before the World Matchplay; Ogilvy did win the season-opening SBS Championship, but has since played only in Abu Dhabi (34th) and lost in the 2nd round last week. He may be a regular in this event, but he has missed the cut in four of eight attempts with a best finish of 17th; Allenby has made the cut in six of seven attempts with a best finish of 2nd. Other than Ogilvy being a Scottsdale resident (though that hasn't translated into high finishes in this event in the past), I can't see why Carib make him a -140 favourite.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Villegas tb Ogilvy +100; Kuchar tb Moore R -120; Kuchar tb Kim -115; Glover tb Crane -123; Glover tb Kim -105; Glover tb Mahan -120]

Toms -155 over Love 3rd (72 Holes)

Good luck to me.

So many other guys i liked this week, but the books kept on matching them up against each other :mj1:

It was this play or these 2 Quinney over Appleby ..
Also Rollins at +105 over Quiros seemed to have a value.
Lets hope this play hits...

Have any of you guys had computer issues this season with the pgatour.com leaderboard? For years I have left the leaderboard on an open browser on Thursday and Friday while at the office. Every now and then I will click on it to see the current leaderboard, while doing other business on the computer. This year when I do that, the leaderboard is slowing my computer down, and even freezes the site up for a few seconds while it refreshes itself. It never used to do this. It also seems to refresh every 10 or 20 seconds, which it never used to do that often. My home computer does the same thing. Anyone know what I am talking about?
What other sites do you all use for a leaderboard that show shot by shot action?
