Net new jobs in June in Wisconsin: 9,500. Net new jobs in June in America: 18,000.

Pretty impressive indeed... half of the jobs created in the nation were created in WI.....:toast:

More states will wish they had a Governor that can solve problems like Walker.

The Massachusetts unemployment rate held steady a 7.6 percent in June as Bay State employers added 10,400 jobs, the state?s Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development reported today.

Nearly all the jobs added were in the private sector, the office said in a press release.

Sectors of the local economy that added jobs included manufacturing, scientific and business services, and leisure and hospitality, the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development said.

The national unemployment rate in June was 9.2 percent.

If the voters of Wiscinsin throw out the Republican Senators and Governor, they'll get what they DESERVE.

JMHO

Yep - higher taxes, lower employment, more unions and bigger class sizes. :nono:

Okay, I'll bite. Please, Mags, explain to me what net new jobs were created in Wisconsin IN JUNE, and why. You attribute it to Walker, explain why it was because of his policies.

I know Wisconsin Dells probably employs that many new people each year alone, that are not long term full time jobs. You are suggesting because of Walker's specific efforts, new jobs were created. Please explain where those jobs came from, who they are, and how cutting as many union jobs as he wanted to cut created new jobs?

Quick point (before you try to fool us all...). How many Wisconsin jobs go up in May and June and go away in September and October each year? Are you allowing for the big tourist hire that happens there every year and taking Walker credit for that?

This should be good...:0074

I made the same point about summer temp jobs in WI in another thread, Chad. I'm looking forward to Mags explaining how Walker's policies created 9500 jobs last month.

Although, it's possible that Mags is right. Walker's policies may have created those jobs... perhaps 9500 WI teachers decided they better take on summer jobs to make ends meet. ;)

Walker attributed the job growth to the tourism industry and the marketing blitz that the state of Wisconsin has put on this summer.

So basically he's used the state's funds to pay out of state advertisers to bring in the people from states with real economies with citizens who actually have some disposable income. . .and then brags about it

Thanks cheeseheads!

Anyone who's ever lived in WI knows how our roads and hotel parking lots are populated with IL license plates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Apparently Mags is under the impression that WI tourism is a self-serve industry.

I can't believe it - job growth is up, and you still complain.

National job numbers were up a couple of months ago and you were all singing Obama's praises, even though 90% of those jobs were from a national McDonald's job fair.

Even the liberal JS Online says it very clearly (albeit begrudgingly, as they are a union shop):

The state's leading business lobby groups quickly released statements in support of Walker's economic policies.

"Business leaders here and nationally like what is happening in Wisconsin," said Kurt Bauer, president of the Madison-based Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the state's biggest business group.

"June employment figures released today show Wisconsin at the forefront of the nation's job creation," said a release from the Waukesha County Business Alliance.

It is great that WI is open for business.

Hey, given that it is "tourist season" all over the country right now, how did the rest of the country do in June????? Oh yea, that's right - very, very poorly.

I know it kills you to see Walker's policies working. He is just using Obama's redistribution of wealth thing. Taking from the overpaid special interests who have done better than everyone else the last 10 years (public unions), for the betterment of everyone else in the state.

It makes perfect sense what is going on - and why the business climate is so much better here in WI (with the annual CEO survey that was released in May to prove it).

It just kills you guys to not have the world revolve around public labor unions, doesn't it?

Hey Bobby - how do your finances/tax rates look in IL? Can you get off that ship before it sinks?

Didn't Rahmmy just lay off a ton of workers in Chicago, as the union wouldn't bargain with him - so Rahmmy had no choice?

Didn't you guys just raise personal income tax rates significantly?

Doesn't your state owe a ton of companies/contractors money, because they can't pay their bills?

Didn't the Packers come into vaunted Soldier Field and give the Bears an a** whuppin last year in the NFC Championship game? (note: you have to win that game to get to the Super Bowl :00hour )

Yea, IL has it going on. Which is why the Chicago Tribune even had an article wishing that IL was Wisconsin!

Mags - get of the computer and make me a brat

The flight of business from Illinois hasn't panned out as some of you predicted.......maybe walker can celebrate when the unemployment rate goes down on his watch

There has been no response to that, Bleeding. It's been asked by myself and others, and nothing but unspecified credit and subject changes come back. It makes perfect sense, and I'm guessing we are right on this, or it would be refuted.

So I have been duped? Been too busy to check this out but theses are just summer jobs? These jobs are going away?

I'm sure some of them are. I have no idea (and it hasn't been reported) what percent are or aren't.

But at least they have gone UP. Most states, even with summer employment propping them up, have gone down.

It is all relative - how is WI doing compared to the rest of the states (since last I looked, it is summer everywhere right now, and all states hire for the summer tourist season - it's not like WI is the tourist mecca of the nation).

How did MN do, for example? There jobs numbers should have gone way up, being a northern vacation state??? I didn't see the press release, so they must not have added jobs.

funny part is that even his recollection of the GBay Bears game is way overboard :mj07: What i recall is the third or fourth string quarterback on the brink of tying or going in the lead late before an interception. Not quite an ass kicking but if he say's so i guess we can all play along with him. :0002
