He does not suck. Kansas could not cover him, he got no help. Really, that is an unfair appraisal. Guy is a great player, suffered through tough year with injuries.

In all fairness, he did hit a huge 3 with just over a minute left to cut a Kansas lead of 4 to 1.I know my testicle's drew up when he did it,cos' I had my nutt's on UK

Have to agree..Walton blows

Have to agree..Walton blows

Walton was 5-14 from the field. Why in the hell did he keep taking those damn fade away jumpers? Did he hit one of those all night. A guy with that size and skill, should NEVER go f'n 5-14 from the field. That charging foul was almost unforgivable. You just cannot do that down by 3 with a minute to go. He is one of thee most overrated players in the country. What a stiff.

c'mon walton sux?

c'mon walton sux?

lute said he played on 70% ankles all year ... hes a class kid and total team player ... why doesnt JJ Reddick suck, or Hinrich, or JG when they have horrible games ... I talked to a top Pac-10 player and he said Walton was the best all around player hed ever gone against ...

and for the record his dad was the best college player I have ever seen

and if you wanna argue, ask John Wooden, he would say the same thing, in fact the Wiz says (ive read about 4 of his books) that "Bill and Kareem were the best two I ever coached but if you had to push me, Bill might be a better all around player, maybe not more dominant, but as far as all aspects, no one was better than Bill."

People forget had walton not broken his foot after Portland started 50-10 after their first NBA Title, they'd have odds/on won another ... the guy had foot/bone/leg structure more delicate than a Flamingo's ... too bad his son seemed to inherit it ...

Sorry, I lost biggest bet of tourney on Zona too and Walton missed some big FTs. but he hardly sucks, he drew numerous fouls, had 10 rbs and 6 assists, most for any Wildcat .. Lute gave up on Salim 1-4 21 mins; JG was mediocre as usual in his sr. year, his early TOs sophomoric and crucial to KS early confidence ... and moreover, credit Hinrich's guts and Graves 6-6 from field and 15 RBS--those were not expected ....

great game, someone had to lose, am I disappointed, sure, i had Zona 5/1 to win NC and KY 18/1, tuff day ... but Luke also shot 67% from line today and that is exactly the D1 avg over the last 40 years ...

ok, Im done, just dont like seeing people kick damn good players when they dont have any facts backing their arguments

take care, gregg

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read on here. Hello???? Every player has bad games here & there. MJ, Jabar, Johnson, Bird they all had them so get a clue.

What was with all the damn fadeaways last night? With his size he should be going to the hole everytime and at least drawing a foul. Did he ever get fouled on one of those fadeaways? NO.

Hey Mr. Hockey

Hey Mr. Hockey

I can see why your name is Mr. Hockey...you obviously know nothing about basketball. How in the world do you defend a guy going 5-14 from the field? Please explain to me why a guy with his size keeps taking fade away jumpers from 13 feet? And missing every one of them. Why not take the ball to the basket a few more times, especially with Collison in foul trouble? Please give me the answer, oh wizard of hockey. Stick to sports you might know something about, and leave basketball for the real experts.

IF YOU WANT TO JUMP SOMEBODY'S @SS - START W/ CHANNING FRYE B!@#$, UTTERLY USELESS ALL NIGHT. EARLY FOUL TROUBLE,LITERALY NO POINTS, REB. HANDS OF GLASS. HE TURNED THE BALL OVER MANY TIMES. WALTON COULD HAVE PLAYED BETTER ,AND THAT FADE AWAY WAS AWFUL ALL NIGHT. HOWEVER, HE WAS BEING GUARDED BY COLLISON ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS LAST NIGHT. THE ENTIRE ARIZONA TEAM FAILED TO BOX OUT, AND EVERY PLAYER WHO PLAYED HAD AT LEAST 1-2 STUPID UNFORCED TO'S. THE TEAM LOST THE GAME; NOT MR. WALTON.

Walton's fadeaway is money. You listen to Billy Packer and now you sound like an idiot. Collison looked silly guarding it, all slow, letting Walton have wide open looks. On every one, Collison would be on his heels watching the shot. He just didn't make them last night. The fadeaway is an excellent shot, and it is a good weapon in Walton's arsenal. Don't Jordan and Kobe shoot fadeaways, oh right, you must have forgot that.

This is the stupidest thread I have ever seen on here, I am not kidding.

BOMBs, good post. Obviosly these jokers in here have never seen a Pac-10 game. The guy shoots fadeways most of the time. and shoots them well, i might add. he was just off last night, just like everyone else on the team. they started the game like they were not ready. had to play catch up most of the night. imo, if they had started the game just down a few or even thru 10 minutes, they would have been up at half, and coasted thru the rest of the game. they did just that most of the season. oh well, i hated to lose that play as well, but i won't just bag a guy cuz i lost a bet.

woah bombs..

woah bombs..

Do I notice that Kobe and MJ should fadeaways? Yes...let's see..Kobe, MJ and Walton. Yep. You are right. Those guys belong in the same sentence. Because MJ and Kobe are good at shooting fadeaways, you are saying I shouldn't criticize Walton for shooting them??? That is among the dumbest things I have ever heard. Because great players can do something, it does not mean that mediocre players should try it.

That is like saying Rey Ordonez should swing for the fences because Bonds and Sosa can hit home runs.

Use a little more common sense in the future when coming up with analogies. Spare me the third grade logic.

I did not say Walton was Kobe or Jordan.

What I WAS SAYING is: Packer discounted the fadeaway as a bad shot under any circumstances.

Walton made them all year, made them against ND. He can make the shot. It is not a bad one.

You obviously aren't an expert on hoops or probably any sport for that matter when you are knocking a guy for a bad night when EVERYONE has them no matter how great you are. You sound like someone who lost money on the game & is thinking in that regards instead of reality so grow up already.
