Not everyone who is poor is on welfare. Plus there can't be a society without someone being poor.. Society just wouldn't work..
And you mention the economy and the rich.. It didn't bother you when oil companies were getting over $4 a gallon in gas.. Making record profits. Why not? Yhe rich are entitled to make more profits.. Sure, at what price.. What an economy killer that was. Seems to me that keeping gas and oil prices down would be a great boost to the economy. How can you do that? Decrease the demaand for it. So Obama's vision of a future with higher gas mileage vehicles is kind of smart. Not to say people should be forced to get rid of their SUVs and Trucks... I need a truck to pull my boat but can't the auto industry make a powerful enough 4 wheel drive truck that gets decent gas mileage?? Someone does have to over look some of these companies, otherwise you let the rich dictate everything..

Look at the ones that are finally having to claim their swiss bank accounts. Thats millions in tax right there.

I wonder how you will feel about your health insurance, the insurance you are so happy with, that your tight rich guy boss is paying most of (I assume), if you are fired. I also wonder how you'll feel about the government if you are drawing unemployment, and how you'll feel about getting a good job in this environment just by going out and getting one - it sounds pretty easy to hear you tell it. Perspectives can change over time, when things happen to you personally.
fair is fair everyone should pay the same rate of taxes and get rid of all welfare, no work no pay, go eat at a soup kitchen, get an eduaction, quit sponging off of me the american tax payer
I've always considered a flat tax or equal tax to be an interesting idea. But you'd have to eliminate all deductions and financial benefits that only high income earners are able to take advantage of, and when it comes to the final discussion, they seem to get pretty quiet about a flat tax when that is a part of the discussion.
And I've asked repeatedly in this forum what conservatives think is a fair tax rate for everyone to pay, while eliminating all deductions. Care to take a crack at that? What do you think is fair? And would you be willing to look at an across the board cut in all government expenditures to balance a budget, and not just those you have a problem with?

I don't like it either, but that is the way it is.... Also some of the poor suffer from mental issues as well like anyone else but many of those guys going to the soup kitchens have suffered from many mental issues ... Bipolar and severe depression too..
Me and you will just have to stick to conversing aboiut sports because we just can't agree on logic....
