Gus had his last seizure on dec 29th and hasnt had one since. i sent him back to school about 2 weeks ago confident that the medicine he is on is working(phenobarbital) the trainer said he had lost everything that he with him for the prior two months he was there(oct-dec). When i took him there he acted like he had never seen the place...very sad what Gus had to go through. But, he made it through 19 seizures in 3 days and seems to be back to quasi-normal now. Will he ever hunt...hell no...but looks like we will have a great house dog from now on! So i decided to go get him a freind...I bought a black lab(Jake), and hopefully big Jake will be my hunting companion come next fall. He are pics of the two...Gus' head is shaved where they gave him a spinal tap...he is a short hair so it may take him a year for his hair to grow back. He is diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy.

Good to hear that Gus is coming along. You'll have a good pet there for many years. Now you have 2 of them which is better than one. Was looking through some pics the other day and saw a picture of Gus that I had saved and was wondering about him. Thanks for the update.

Mcgruder,,was going to post Herbs update this weekend.I'll explain some here and paste this in a seperate post later.
The saga of Herb.He got the TV screen and was waiting for the installation of the wall brakets that he paid for.He also was going to have QVC have a guy to set up the TV.Somehow they were delayed so Herb set up the TV in his living room until they install it in his bedroom.
I called herb last sunday to see if everything was set up.The TV started smoking.Herb called Billy to see what was up.Billy thinks that Herb and one of his attendents crossed the wrong wires wrong setting it up on there own..But the TV had something burning in it.So Billy called QVC and they agreed to send herb another TV.Billy had to pack the TV up and it just went out a week ago.Herb also bought a sound system and dvd and we are still waiting for the other donation.Billy is putting together all the envelopes that were sent and will take pictures of herb,map of US,etc.
On a bad note Herb has developed 2 bad bed sores.He gets them on occasion but for someone who has been bedridden for 30 yrs his record is great.He has his own "body watch" method where every 2 hours he shifts.But these 2 sores are deep so someone is coming to his place this week to x-ray them.Billy says he is very careful but sometimes he feels there is a sore developing and ignores another area.Billy,his attendents,his mother constantly check Herb out for sores.Billy says sometimes its only a small redness on the surface but dangerous down deep.
I know it's taken time but soon we;ll get Herb up and going.He's excited about his room.Flat screen,sound system,dvd and hopefully a computer. The day will soon come when all you "angels" can see Herb in a picture.He still is trying to figure out how I organized all of you.He still thinks its through maybe a religious group.All I tell him is that these "angels" pray everyday.....can't tell them that the prayers are for Duke to beat Wake by 16...I'll post this tomr and paste it.Thanks for asking McGruder..
