Maybe Sandusky had something on Joe:shrug: Kinda like point shaving which i brought up 50 years ago. Paterno was the biggest point shaver in the country. That is how u become very powerful. I remember bringing this up years ago and his loyal following made it sound like i was attacking his mother or calling him an enabler to child abuse :mj07: Guys idol this crook cause they don't want to believe anything is wrong. Heck even his own players accusedd him of something shady when they lost the one big bowl game they were favored to smash Alabama i believe. Joe called the same play 4 times from the two which was stopped every time. KInda reminds me of the way the dolphins set up Teebow last year so he could score a two point conversion while their four best run lineman were on the sidelines complaining why they are not in the game.:thefinger

I was a very big Joe Paterno fan & not only am I sick about what went on with Sandusky, but I'm just as angry with the cover-up....

Imo the actions taken by Paterno & the others remind me of what went on with the Catholic Church. These people were more interested in taking care of the schools (church) rep as well as their own instead of the well being of the children....

The strong have an obligation to watch out for the weak & the vulnerable & the leaders from PSU didn't do that....

Also the statue of Paterno must come down !!

This. I couldn't agree more and I'm catholic too. It's an awfully good comparison. Typical bullshit people (or institutions) with power try to get away with now. I'm sickened with the cover up and the way the PSU (as an institution) handled it. They have forever tarnished the face of their school now.

Rot in Hell PSU

Because the entire university is made up of those 5 individuals?

This makes zero sense.

This is a football issue because if not for protecting the power of the university (which is based solely on the storied history of its football program) they would have reported it.

Again, don't take your anger at a few out on everyone. Ask any of the doctors who received their degree from PSU or better yet, ask the parents of the children they treat if PSU is just a football school.

Ever heard of agronomy? Guess what school is in the top three?

Once again the NCAA is showing they are the biggest pieces of shit alive. They "need more time" before making a decision.

The NCAA is waiting for all the information to come out. They are big enough and smart enough to know they need to do that.

Your anger at Paterno etal is justified, but it probably needs to stop there.

You missed the point. The mighty "name", "reputation" and "honor" pimped out by Paterno and the other criminals is the veil under which they allow children to be raped. So, I do not mean "go to hell anyone associated with penn st". I mean go to hell penn state, the facade that 5 men fought so hard to keep. Those words, that name of the university, was the reason this happened. Don't be so obtuse.

Unfathomable bad decision making by 4 individuals allowing one monster to get away with unthinkable crimes is why this happened.

Crimes and cover ups happen all the time and while the company/school/business/family/etc always takes the brunt of the blame the fact is those 5 people involved here define the scandal, not the university.

What he is saying is that this "problem" is a result of 4-5 INDIVIDUALS at Penn State. This "problem" is not a widespread theme of how Penn State as a whole operates.

No school has had more attention put on their scandals that the University of Kentucky. As part of a widespread point shaving scandal that rocked college basketball in the 1950?s, Kentucky would cancel the 1952-53 season.

All of UK athletic teams were banned from post-season play for the 52-53 school year.

Four former Wildcat players were implicated in the scandal. Included were NBA players Alex Groza and Ralph Beard and All-America center Bill Spivey.

Although indicated but never convicted, Groza and Beard were banned from the NBA for life by commissioner Maurice Podoloff.

The University of Kentucky?s second big scandal involved air freight, players and their parents, coaches and college entrance exams.

The NCAA initially began their investigation after it learned that Kentucky assistant coach Dwane Casey sent $1,000 to eventual Kentucky signee Chris Mills.

Mills played one season at Kentucky before the NCAA learned of the payoff. Mills was banned from playing for Kentucky beyond the 1988 season as a result of the fallout.

In the same season, it was also learned that Kentucky player Eric Manual cheated during the SAT.

He would later be banned from playing at any NCAA member school on any lever

CHILD RAPE = this from the 50's (60 years ago) and the 80's (which we served sanctions for) is what you are basing your comeback on? Seriously? SERVE YOUR SANCTION!!!!!! 25 years of raping kids is OK with you and your program? Cover up your face with your protective covers, all you blowhard believers in JoePa. He is GUILTY and you cannot admit it from 1988 ON!!!!!!!

Ironic, your 1988 posting of the FedEx debacle at UK was when RAPES of kids were already occurring and CONTINUED to occur and ALL key individuals at your campus knew it. Fathom that, Marine.

:popcorn2

We know who worked open that Fedex to Mills, but all to Penn State remains to be opened

You asked for scandals. I gave you two. What's the spazzing all about?

Spazzing is RAPE of kids! You just want to forget that part. You must not have kids nor have never had them or you would understand their vulnerablility. Love your posts at Madjacks otherwise.

Yours?

Why are you making it personal to marine?...

anyway

This is why I hate the NCAA, and it belongs to almost all the sanctions they levy against programs...

The football players now, and the ones coming in, along with the new coaches and staff had nothing to do with the crimes...just as much as the womens volleyball team and the physics club...

why should they be punished as well?....

let the courts convict the criminals, the ncaa can ban the ones that match the crime and hit the universities in the pocketbooks...afterall, isnt that what we hear all the time about college football, its all about the money.....

in this case the money can be repaid to the victims as well as a foundation for victims...

why should current and future football players, the band, the cheerleaders, (coaches for all 3)interns, announcers, reporters, maintenance workers, security etc all suffer for these fools?

this is why i hate the ncaa....and there will come a day when schools break out from underneath this hypocritcal regime

All I would ask those in Penn State's corner:

Why does everyone feel the same way except for those with a penn st affiliation (student, alumni, grew up a fan, grew up in close proximity).

It's not one giant conspiracy. Nor is it the emotion involved, this has been going on long enough that these aren't snap judgements.

The fact that the only people who agree with the likes of Marine, etc have affiliations with PSU should tell you everything.
