The game almost wasn?t played tonight ... and as of this morning, there was still a chance it could be postponed.
The St. Bonaventure men?s basketball team went into Tuesday?s 4:30 p.m. practice under the impression that there was ?little chance? its match-up with La Salle would happen.
The Explorers? chartered flight had been grounded due to an impending snow storm, and by the time they?d arranged for a bus, the storm ? a blizzard, essentially ? had already hit, leaving coach John Giannini?s team stranded.
The status of the game remained in limbo until, according to a Bona official, the Atlantic 10 decreed ?game on,? so long as the Explorers could safely make it out of Philly by this morning.
And so, barring any further travel issues, the Bonnies will, indeed, meet La Salle tonight in a late, nationally televised start in the Reilly Center.
