Jeff Weaver has turned it around . 7 of his L10 the Cards have cashed. In 2 of the 3 that the Cards lost , the score was 0-2 & 0-1 .

Bryanz,

Enjoy your posts as you're one of the more informative cappers @ MJ's. Interested to hear your thoughts on Cards taking the World Series...

I show Weaver +160 in game #1 and Cards +200 at some places to take the World Series. Numbers seem a bit excessive IMO.

Weaver has quite a history in Detroit. He was shipped out in the Bonderman deal for, amongst other things, smoking the cheeba in the team plane bathroom. :mj07:

When the Cards picked up Weaver at the deadline, you could hear the laughter all across America, and perhaps no laugh was louder than mine.

"Waiter, I'll have the crow with a side of humility, please."

I stand corrected.

Thanks D, I do post with a bit of sarcasm but I try to post a point or two that I think may give an edge, not really looking to give a play or get a play much anymore. Not a Big LaRussa fan and was anti Weaver early in the season as I posted before his last start. Did back him and was confident in his last and he delivered. Not a big fan of series plays, like to see it unwind and pick my spots. Tony is 5-12 in WS games. We have a young Tiger team that has time to rest and (THINK). Right now I like the Cards in the first 1/2 of game 1. Weaver may win two games in this WS. The Tigers are confident but green, if they win game one they have a better chance to win this WS. Game one will be key more for the Tigers. Think a game one loss could stun this young team. On paper the Tigers pitching is the best from top to bottom. Larussa knows the best team doesn't win the WS. He's been swept twice, lost another 1-4 and swept the Giants. I remember in 90 when his team was a huge chalk against the Reds, maybe it's his turn. Should be fun to watch these to Mr personality managers turn this series into brain surgery.

waever has always been one of my favorite pitchers in baseball. he made me a ton of money when he was with detroit and catching huge numbers against some of the power teams. when hes on, there arent a whole lot of pitchers with better stuff. going to new york was the worst thing for him. his temperament isnt suited for the bronx. he might have found a home in st.louis. that said, i dont see the cards with much of a chance in this series. not because i think the tigers are dominant but because i dont think st.louis is a good baseball team. theyre a shell of what theyve been.

The young green Tigers lost game 1. The balls in the air. I'll take my boy Weaver to put the first nail in.
