Weber St -4 over Sacramento St **** strong play
Some might being saying what am I doing going from my beloved MAAC in the east coast to the Big Sky conf out in the west. Takes awhile to re-figure all my numbers when you enter a new conf but I did yesterday when I played NAU- Mont St. I really liked NAU over Mont St and played it.Game was closer then I thought but I won. when I went to post it I didn't realize the 5.00 pm start was est. I thought the game would go off at 8.00est.No time to post but thank god I made the play.Anyway looking at the Big Sky and breaking it down,I fell in love with tonites game with Weber. I have a little connection in this game because the leading scorer for Sac St played at a local juco here a few yrs back.
Weber beat Sac early in the yr 88-68.They dominated the bds and Webers 6'9 center, Valeika had a career nite.Weber won the big Sky conf with there win the other nite. They will host the post season tourney.Sac was elimanated from the post season by Portlands 100-73 loss so this game tonite is there last.Sac does play better at home but they have lost 5 of last 6 and 11 of last 13 games.Weber with tonites win claims the Big Sky title even though they got the 1 seed already.
Weber has a big front line with Valiek,Patton, and Billings at 6'8,6'8 and 6'9.They have one of the best gds in Silveria who leads the conf in asst-to-ratio. They have the best FG% defense in the conf and should control the bds tonite vs this small Sac team.Sac has 5'10 Hargrove who played at SCCC near me.He's there top scorer and I thought he could play in the MAAC.had grade problems and transferred to another juco i think. But he could play. the problem is he has no one around him.Leath and Groce are 5'10 and 6'2 and there other scorers. They have Bausely and Alamo who are 6'7 and 6'9 and just avg double d's.No depth and are a poor shooting team. There biggest problem is there defense.
Like Weber to win this road game by double digits. The one thing that i worry about a little is Weber is the host, has the 1st round bye and late game and maybe doesn't need to play 100% tonite. But I really feel if Weber plays its "b" game and Sac its "A" game Weber still wins and covers.
It's an off the beaten path game..and I like Weber big...

Georgetown -3.5 over Cuse ***
Spent mucho time on this game.BE title on the line. They have the No 1 defense, scoring margin and FG% is an amazing 53%..If Cuse plays its 2-3 the Hoyas will be able to dismantle it with there hi-low attack. If Cuse goes man who gds Green...The dome will be loud and the Cuse team gets a big home court advantage tonite. The students hate the Hoyas..big rivals here. Hoyas haven't been in this position in awhile and want revenge.Cuse fans will be wearing there "Your Momma's a Hoya" t-shirts.whens the last time those t-shirts came out.I'll be back later for a few more reasons why I like Hoyas. With UNC,Florida and Wisky going down this weekend thats enough incentive alone..but this game is about matchups...be back later..

Did pretty well yest...I passed on the manhattan-Iona game because of the dubois-Austin status. Again they both played about 6 or 7 minutes.Dubois came in,made a mistake on defense and Coach R took him out..he never played again. I'm not sure if it was because he was sick or in the doghouse.Austin also ??
I was watching a few games and forgot to tape it. I'm sure the announcers mentioned something. so if anyone heard why.. can you please post it here.
If you had Manhattan[i had them in a parlay] -8 and lost please do not read the following. If you had Iona +8 read and look up in the sky and say "gracias dio"..
MC is up 11 with 21 seconds on the clock shooting 2 FT's.MC subs almost the entire team.Adams a 6'8 sub throws 2 bricks up...iona rebounds...fast breaks..shoots misses..MC rebounds..but instead of just holding the ball the Mc player takes off for a fast break..Iona reaches from behind and knockes the ball loose. think maybe theres 10 seconds left...and MC still has a 11 pt lead..loose ball..Iona player throws up a 3....swish.. MC player goes to take it out and just throws a lazy pass right under the basket to an iona player. he turns, takes one step and hits a layup..Score is now 71-65.. 2 seconds left MC throws it in and the buzzer goes off. Thank god in my parlay i lost another game in it.and thank god I passed...I would love to be in Vegas at one of the sportsbooks rooms on a big screen...I'm sure all the Manhattan backers were on line already to cash in.. be back later...or maybe no one in Vegas plays these games..

Georgetown -3.5 over Cuse ***
Already said enough.Hoyas 1st BE title is on the line. It's been almost 20 yrs since then won the title.I watched the GT-Pitt game and what impressed me was Pitt should of won and GT made a whole buch of mistakes but in the last 8-10 minutes Hoyas defense stopped Pitt. When you play bad and still win thats the sign of a good team.I think Cuse will have trouble tonite.Roberts knee is bad..Nick if left alone can get hot and hit from anywhere.Rautins has found his touch and cannot miss from the 3.Harris is so exciting whenever he gets the ball.Devon can dribble penetrate but has no b-ball IQ. Hoyas will contest the open shots but there inside game will hurt Cuse.Hibbert,Green should be able to dominate the bds.Pitt dominated them and still lost.Hoyas are No 2 in the nation in FG% and also 5th in defense scoring allowing 56 pts a game.Cuse FG def is also good ranking 4th..Just think Boes 2-3 def does not have the big wing spans and teams can penetrate and pass.Hibbert will come up to the high post, screen the gds, drop down,or look for Green posting up.
Hoyas are 16-5-1 ats...9-1-1 away...Cuse is 8-9 ats at home...and if any Hoyas see those "momma" t-shirts...look out..Hoyas win this by 10.

Kansas -6.5 over OU **
KU is the hottest team in the country..In there last away games they have won by 9,29,18,20 and 26.All B-12 teams like Mizzou,BU,Col etc..There offense is great but watching them play defense and shutting downs teams. They get so many stops and talk about a team contesting shots. They come right out you.OU at home is tough.there 7-3 ats but there last home game Texas came into town and destroyed them.UT won by 10 with durant going off.Texas dictated that game killing Ou on the bds while OU shot 8-26 from the 3.KU has a much better defense then UT and see a close game but KU pulling away in the last 6-8 minutes...

Akron -10 over dukies ***
Zips have some offense avg 76 pts a game.Dukies are A-10 top off team.So why are they 6-9 in conf. Dukies new style of 'platoon" hoops presses, fast breaks, etc. But they can't stop anyone either.Fordham who has one of the worst offenses in the A-10 on sat beat the dukies and scored 97 pts at there place.Akron has 5 or 6 guys that can score and if they avg over 76 pts...wow..zips could score 100 pts tonite.Zip defense is also tough.zips ats is terrible ..esp on the rd..but think they dominate tonite and could win by 20...

Weber St -4 over Sac St ****** very strong play..love this game..enough said on it. Skip the others..

Weber St. line now down to -2.

I'm with ya, Box. I don't see how Weber St. could give up this game even if not fully motivated.

I see a ton of love for Weber St as can be expected, however I am on the other side. Anyone that thinks Weber St has everthing to play for and Sac St has nothing, has it backwards. Weber has clinched a bye and a share of the Big Sky title. They have been off now for 12 days. One thing I've noticed with these college kids, is that too much time off means crapping shooting when they return. One thing for sure, these Weber kids didn't spend that time getting ready for Sac St. BTW, the last time Weber had a lot of time off (7 days) they went to Mont St and got thumped. They lost 48-63 on 35 % shooting (61 % FT) It was their lowest scoring output of the season. It also came against a team they had beaten 84-63 just 12 days earlier. Along with having a bye, they are hosting the semis and the finals and really don't have much reason to show up tonight. This is the end of the line for Sac St. This is their last game. Senior night and pride on the line. A win here would go a long way toward easing the pain of a dreadful season and they would love nothing more than to knock off the top dog on the way out. The line dropped from 4 to 3 because there really are people who believe Sac St can pull this off.

BOX, i wanted to cry yesterday but now i wanta break something ..... after the write-up
you gave us as to how mannhatten gm. eneded. i needed them to close out a 4-team wheel worth over 5 grand if they cover....i know they were up all game by 10 to 12 pts and never were inside the numberbut hanging around it......but never could they pull away and go up by 15 to 20...that scared me......and of course they blew cover.....i just couldnt understand how...because i saw on ticker they were up 11 20 sec. left and win by 6....i was sick but kinda was expecting it just because they never went up big...but man that ending you described is un-fuk-believable!! almost like itwas fixed...??

Weber line is -2 now. I see with what your saying jet fan..I did take that into account. But I think they don't want to share the Big Sky title and would want it on there own.It doesn't effect the seedings or anything..as far as senior nite tonite. Hargrove the kid I saw play and one other player are seniors.hargrove is a juco transfer and has been there only 2 yrs.And the home crowd..in my crazy system of capping if course home court means something. but so does fans at home games...Sac gets minus 2 pts for home fans..in last 3 or 4 home games they had 605,755,and 799 attendance. I had that many at my assembly on friday at my HS...add another 100 for senior nite..
But like you mentioned.. is Weber focused..regardless of the line drop..I'm playing them and might even add another * since I get another pt.

steel city..sorry for explaining how it ended.thank god I lost on the other game for my parlay..Does anyone know when your at the sportbooks in vegas are they showing that game[Manhattan] or are they doing biger games...just wondering?
thanks jetfan..

Sac st is deep deep in the Hood. I wouldn't go there after dark either. Oak park is one on the worst areas in the Country.
