first, the brief bragging :D
quote from yday:
MY Thoughts:
Note: To me, Scherzer, Verlander, Kluber, Severino best sp's in mlb... You're almost always gonna get a great game from them... but they don't win all da time either.
IF ur gonna play, I'd do runline or "pass" on the games w/them
(Scherzer WON on runline... yw)

"Live Dogs" that I see....
*Pirates hm w/Musgrove.. can da magic last? (No, it can't! Loss)
UNDERRRR... (UNDER EZ WIN)
*Sea w/Paxton @ Houston... on a given nite, Paxton can beat any tm (EZ Winnah!)

others I like...
*Like Braves (Newcomb) to stop da Padres streakin... EZ winnah
*Lean OVer in Colo/Reds game... EZ Winnah
-------------------------------------------------------

Tues System Results ~ NOT Pretty!

W Streak teams~
Sea W5th / +115
LAD W4th / +100
Twin W4th / +100
sf loss / -140
cubs loss / -210 < Big Fave Loses again!
twin loss gm #2 / -180
padres loss / -100
===== 3-4 day / 99-86 new record.... - 315 day

L Streak teams ~
TB L5th / +100
Mets L5th / +117
balt won / -127
mia won / -200 < Big Fave loss again
colo won / -100
clev won / -100
phils won / -210 ... dem cubbies
===== 2-5 day / 97-85 new record.... -520 day

OVERALL ... 196-171 new record... -835* day / -1575 new fig (*worst day so far)
-----------------------------------------------------------

NOTE:
Remember... I'm tracking ALL these at $100/play... but I would "PASS" or 'runline only' on Big Faves... lost 3 more yday, another $600 or so.. stay off em ML

Wed System Plays:

Win Streak Teams ~
*Sea W5 (@ hou) **double play.... but I wouldn't
*LAD W4 (@ pitt) < no namer for doggers v rookie for pitt
*LAA W3 (v kc) < ride em w ohtani **Double Play (runline only for me)
*Rsox W3 (v tigers) < Sox Big Fave, I'd take em runline today.. blowout

Losing Streak Teams ~
*Mets L5 (v balt)
*TB L5 (@ nats)
*KC L3 (@ angels)
*Hou L3 (v sea)
*Pitt L3 (v doggers)
*Reds L3 (v colo)

MY Thoughts:
*Angels w Ohtani runline and -2.5 for a little... same with redsox n tt over for rsx.
*RedSox runline... (Not a Rodriguez fan really, but Tigers sp will get drilled I think)
*I'd take Colo and runline... Reds sp is gonna get pounded.. Colo tt over?
*Nats v tb... never heard of tbay sp... I'd try nats and a little r/l
*"Live Dog" play... PHILS w Nola... verry good sp they'll have a decent chance today

Whatever YOU Play...

Best o'Luck!

LoLB

Oh u can?t leave degrom out of there, but definitely agree on the others. Good luck!!

Haha Mr. Sports... you must not have read/remembered my full post yday... I had a larger section of my top sp's in mlb as of right now...

here it was:

MY Top Starting Pitchers as of right now in mlb:
Scherzer
Verlander
Kluber
Severino
-----
Cole
DeGrom
Sale
-----
Snell
Nola
Paxton (no hitter this yr)
-----
thats enuf for now

I could throw in Strasberg... Syndegaard (DL)... maybe a few others... but these are the only ones I trust on a regular basis (at least this year... so far... )

good luck on your plays!

well, we all have our personal preferences re: who's better than whom!

I like to think I've got a pretty good grasp on some of the top talent as I've been reading about and following since before Spring Training, as I like to get early jumps on my fantasy leagues...

I'd recommend the "Rotoworld" mlb preview if you go the fantasy league route..

"MY" stuff did pretty well today, except da Angels need a rally!!
They're down 1-0, still lotsa time

I know that sounds stuffy lol... and, since I'm bored I'll try to bore you guys w/an explanation of my "fantasy mlb pitching evaluation" thought process...

1st) I like to try to keep it simple... IF you search thru old time stats (still my base of what to expect, as that's how we score the league)... don't get into modern metrics.

2nd) The way I look at it, it's like a "Tier" process... and I make my own Tiers (which may have a personal fave higher than the mags, or someone I never wanted to own ranked much lower)...

3) I look for just a few things:

**Their consistency for last 3 yrs... inns pitched... K's... Era.. W's

**Durability...
ya want guys that don't have history of injuries, learned that the hard way lol
Kluber, Scherzer, Sale, Verlander... YES!! Strasburg, Syndegaard... Maybe... Kershaw, Garrett Richards.. NO

**They throw lots of K's...
(category all by itself for those that haven't done a fantasy mlb tm before)... and are still durable... throwing up to 200 ip's

**Do they play on a Top/Middle/Bottom team? You need Wins too..
And it's frustrating having a great pitcher that can't get any wins cuz his tm can't hit for chit...

**AGE.... Up and Coming...? Still there? Past their Prime?

I had Paxton lyr, and Nola n Newcomb the 2nd half of last season... and followed their outstanding performances on average (or below-avg) teams...
Another year stronger, got some good experience last yr, and in the last few rounds and the "sub draft" rounds, you have to try and pick guys that are (hopefully) going to have a very good chance to be even better this year!
Severino, Nola, Newcomb, Clevinger, Cole (I had a feeling Hou was going to make him the 'star' that it seemed like he should be, whatever tweaks they did, it's working), Snell on Tby... All are verrry solid sp's...
And getting old... King Felix... Hamels... for example..
I stay away.. solid, but probably not gonna be much above average at best

**Avoid Guys that have had a few yrs under their belt, get K's, but never seem to ever get their era's down for a season... good gm, bad gm.. bad gm, good gm

They keep you in the middle of the pack in the standings.. but never get ya to the top... Samardzija... Gausman... Reds pitchers... Baltimore pitchers.. Tor sp's, etc lol

So... the advantage of having a fantasy league, is that it does help you to focus on following certain pitchers.. ones u have, or wish you did!

Honestly... healthy durable guys are first.. then you figure out which of them is most likely to get up towards 200 inns... there's not many
Then cross your fingers lol

*NOTE:
Angels blew a 4-1 lead tonight in the 8th inning... would've been 9-1 on the "thoughts" I gave for today's stuff ... woohooo!!
Wish I had some $$ to gamble with
