Went back and looked at what I have done in the play-offs. Day 1 I didn't know the strike zone so played two three team pars and went 2-4 for - 2 units. Since then the umps have gone 15-2 and idiot capper (went against the umps 1 time for a loss) is 14-3.
The big game tonight is CC/Fla. I woke up this morning knowing that I had one solid play. The Cubs baby with Prior. Of course that was before I looked at anything. Now here's what I found.
Except for the second double Penny gave up (SF) he was doing pretty good with the narrow strike zone and the bp did just fine too. It wasn't like they knocked him out of the park because they didn't. So I'll say that under normal conditions I would be on Fla at this point. The only reason I would consider the Cubs is Prior so I guess we had better look at him.
Well we all know what he did against Atl. Great performance but maybe a little too good. In the 6 games leading up to the play-offs he won 5 but when you look closer you find that he ave 6' innings and ave giving up 8 hits. If he gives up 8 hits against Fla he stands a good chance of losing and the strike zone they used last night was a little narrower than the one he saw against Atl. As last night, if it goes to the bp, I have to go with Fla. Do you believe that since the middle of June, Fla is the winningest team in baseball. I'll bet you didn't know that. Prior going 9 is not the norm. Penny going 6 is. If the line drops 15 minutes before game-time I'll have to go with Fla. Other than that I have about an hour and a half to decide whether it's a play or a pass. I like NY and over but may just put them all in a par.
