NIT WED:

CUSE +3' (5 units)............Syracuse fooled me by their ability to motivate themselves to play in this tournament. I feared they would lay an egg in one of those weaker matchups against South Alab and SDSU. I will give Boeheim a lot of credit for getting his troops up. Clemson played very hard against a turnover prone Ole Miss the other night. I think the 2-3 zone is going to present some problems for the Tigers tonight, and they will be forced to shoot over that zone, and I have to think that bruised shoulder to Hamilton will hinder his shot some. Mays is also hurt, and that won't help the offensive board situation. Cuse very close to playing back in New York, and this should be a good game. I thought about the ML, but will take the points. Free Throws for Clemson aren't good....58% on the season, so need to take this into account, and although it is a small backdoor, it should be open.

LEAN to Under 142.5..............I'm staying away from totals as I have been burned by these officials in this NIT.

DEPAUL +7 (5 units)............I wont lie, this is a very scary wager, as Falcons are playing very good and have found their offense, shooting 56% from the floor against the Bulldogs the other night. Depaul doesn't protect the perimeter well, but they played with a lot of grit againt K STATE the other night in a very hostile gym, and I think Mejia will keep Blue Demons in this one. The number has been hit early and often, and all I can find out is that books had to adjust higher to draw some money in. I don't think it will go much higher, as I think there will be some buy back towards tip. Books opened with a weak number, but 7 is a bit high so I will take my chances.

Played NCAA:

Salukis +9' (10 Units)

A&M -3 (5 units)

Working on a pretty big total for Friday. I will be back to give some reasoning on Salukis and Aggies

Good luck

Yahhhh..........bend over.......lucky I covered it with the 2ns half Syracuse..........Oh well....congrats to Clemson backers...that line was tight. Somebody manipulated the Over/Under...it was bouncing all over the place.....went down to 141 then up to 142' again before gametime.

Saluki's +9' (10 Units)............... Salukis lost by 10 at Indiana early in the year. They will control the tempo and this is a substantial road trip for both squads. Kansas youth catches up to them here. S. Illinois won't be intimidated and while they can ill afford to run with Kansas, patience just hasn't been a virtue of this Jayhawk team. The nation falls in love with #1 seeds at this stage, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Salukis pull off the upset. I love their hard nose defense that ranks 3rd in the nation and they will bang with Jayhawks. Kansas hasn't fared well in games where opposing team has controlled tempo. Matt Shaw injury is a concern, but I was impressed how this team completely shut down V. Tech for the 2nd time this season. I like the under here too, but will rest with the points. Good Luck

UCLA/PITT OVER 123 (10 units)..........I know most will look at this play and ask me if I have gone mad. Perhaps I have, but I would be shocked if UCLA continues their poor shooting, and I think Pitt can score. Indiana had plenty of open looks, they just couldn't shoot! UCLA looked less than impressive offensively, as they also shot horribly while in Sacramento:shrug: Their season average is 70 points a game. so I would be surprised if they come out an lay another egg. If they do, Pitt will run away with this. I had this game capped at 131?? Think this line is simply an overreaction to the offense UCLA has exhibited.........If the game is called tight, that should mean lot of trips to the free throw line....Good Luck

A&M AGGIES -3 (5 units)................Playing in the Alamodome with a lot of fan support should help the Aggies here. Tournament Teams have always had an advantage when playing in their home state. Alamodome is something like 200 miles from College Station; and reports show Aggie fans are consuming tickets. Reports say that Douglas Roberts will play; although I don't see how he will be 100%. but I really didn't factor him into my equation. This came down to A&M showing enough mental fortitude to dispose Louisville in Kentucky. I was very impressed when they beat Kansas at Kansas, and I can't ignore the power strength difference between conferences. Memphis road to this game wasn't anything special.........and while I have alot of respect for Calipari, I can't back Memphis or Conference USA. Aggies have shown mental toughness under Gillepsie, Aggies can play different styles and that is a key to winning in this tournament, Aggies big men (Jones and Kavaliauskas) are go to players when perimeter isn't working, Law can take over a game. My main concern for Aggies will be bench and foul trouble..............but, in a close game, I would rather have Aggies at charity stripe than Tigers. While I don't expect Aggies to run away with this one, I think they have all the intangibles to get the W. Tigers really haven't been tested since December when they lost to Arizona. Good Luck!

OHIO STATE TEAM TOTAL UNDER 74' (8 Units).....................great value play. Ohio State will control tempo. This is about 6 points too high. I can't see Buckeyes breaking 70.

Memphis played a very good game tonight, congrats to all Tiger backers. Whod a thunk it........Tigers make both free throws for the win...........I actually half expected that game to go to OT when that kid got fouled...oh well

RANT:

I really have to shrug at the ineptness of some of these coaches and players. Pitt down 7 with 50 seconds left and they are half heartedly walking up in the court, running a half court set, and act like they have all the time in the world.

Tenn is much dumber than I thought. You have a 17 point lead at half, and decide that you are going to show those Buckeyes............exact same thing like that Clemson game. Getting beat hard. Think I will join Raymond and call it a season!

Good Luck folks..............your going to need it with some of the basketball IQ's I have seen in these games.

The only redeeming bet was taking Ohio State 2nd half. Not much redemption............
