Marist is playing outstanding.Has won 3 in a row.They are 15-6 and (9-3 in the MAAC]They are tied for 1st place.Magarity has his kids playing great defense and his offense can score from the inside and outside.And thats with no post players.
The key factor is the Foxes depth.They play 8 or 9 guys and on any given nite someone steps up big.
Marist already beat Iona 96-80 up in Poukeepsie.They just destroyed them.Iona cannot shot the ball.Even though their FG% is close to the Foxes other then Woffard they have no pure shooters.Then have slashers and Jenkins.Fields can hit a 10 footer.He is their best player.They have very little depth and are a poor defensive team.
St Peters upset them the other nite 83-81.
I like Marist because they have Kennedy at the pt.He is one of the most underated kids in the country.A mini "Stockton".He does not turn the ball over,avg 14 pts a game,penetrates,and is 5th in the nation in assits.Talk about a floor general.
Smith is his partner who has scored over a 1,000 pts.Eppehimer can shoot from the outside.Since castleburry has started you now have Tullis coming off the bench.Ellerbee the frosh was named MAC rookie of the week.Young gets some double-doubles.
The Foxes have some depth.The 1st half of the season they didn't get production from their frontline.The 2nd half they are.
Foxes haven't won in New Rochelle in a long time.Iona has been king of the MAAC the past couple of yrs.But Iona is down this yr.They are talented but haven't shown any spark.Red Foxes win by 6-8 pts.Strong play.
Boston Col -4.5 over Vir Tech
BC has to much talent for VT to stay with them.BC is still overated,poorly coached,has poor b-ball IQ,but has to many greyhounds.And they should control the bds.With Bell who was lost for 35 minuts in their last might get lost for only 20 minuts.BC should still win and cover the 4.5.
St Peters +9.5 over Canisius.This is the battle of the cellar.Petes is coming off that big win at Iona.Hopefully they are not celebrating to much driving up the NY State thruway to Buffalo.I've got the under in stops on the seven hr trip to 3.Petes is 6-0 ats when the bus makes 3 or less stops.
Maggio,when I shoot an airball it has no chance of going in,like the other nite.If I hit the rim at least it has a chance.ha
Last nite I banked a few in but still need a few more swishes.
