Anaheim wants win bad and has good record bouncing back from shutouts and such. Like LA last nite, they have poor record in B2B, but that means more in grind of regular season and if significant travel is involved. Neither is the case here (LA won last night).
WA needs wins real bad, team got focused finally and won last game. Buff will be in a bummer, at first anyway, with Varada gone. Mair filled in excellent when Varada out with injury few months back, but then read this in Lorenz' column today at Sabres' official site:
"Yesterday the Sabres did not practice. This morning the entire team was scheduled to work out at the MCI Center. A few players never made it there. I just spoke to a very concerned Lindy Ruff.
?We?ve got three guys that are sick right now,? Ruff told me. ?I don?t know whether it?s a virus or food poisoning. Tim Connolly, Adam Mair, and Rory Fitzpatrick got sick last night. None of them went to the rink today. I don?t know right now if they are going to be available.?....
