If I was a smart betting man, then I SHOULD be hedging my Ott series play, seeing how NJ is 8-0 in series in which they held a 3-1 lead during the Brodeur era. I really haven't decided on what to do, in which case the smart thing is to lay off and pray that Ott comes out with some fire. Spits had a great point saying that maybe the play of Spezza will light a fire within the big boys to perform better. A few interesting things I want to mention, in case you're undecided like me......
1) HUGE, I mean HUGE concensus on NJ to wrap it up tonite. Maybe grooven can help us out with the concensus from other websites, also. The sites I go to have over 70% on NJ, and that has been a MONEY in go-against thruout the season.
2) Steady line move on NJ, which to me seems like the public money is trickling in on NJ. Hell, if hockey is so easy to cap, we'd all be millionaires by now.
3) I mentioned before the series started that IMHO, to beat NJ you need more than 1 scoring line to off-set the Madden line. With Spezza centering the 2nd line and 2nd PP line, Burns couldn't possibly double shift Madden/Gomez to cover them.
4) Ott had total control of the 1st and 2nd period of G4 until LaLime let in one softies after another. He's made some adjustments to cover up his short side and stood up a little more since NJ was shooting at the high corners. He had a solid performance in G5 and really kept his team in the game by turning away at least 3 SH 2-1 opportunities by the Devils.
That being said, with 7 units tied up on Ott futures and series bet, I couldn't possibly add more on the Sens......or could I
:nono: . I'm gonna be passing with a strong lean on the Over.
Any thoughts??
GOOD LUCK IN WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE
