If I was a smart betting man, then I SHOULD be hedging my Ott series play, seeing how NJ is 8-0 in series in which they held a 3-1 lead during the Brodeur era. I really haven't decided on what to do, in which case the smart thing is to lay off and pray that Ott comes out with some fire. Spits had a great point saying that maybe the play of Spezza will light a fire within the big boys to perform better. A few interesting things I want to mention, in case you're undecided like me......

1) HUGE, I mean HUGE concensus on NJ to wrap it up tonite. Maybe grooven can help us out with the concensus from other websites, also. The sites I go to have over 70% on NJ, and that has been a MONEY in go-against thruout the season.

2) Steady line move on NJ, which to me seems like the public money is trickling in on NJ. Hell, if hockey is so easy to cap, we'd all be millionaires by now.

3) I mentioned before the series started that IMHO, to beat NJ you need more than 1 scoring line to off-set the Madden line. With Spezza centering the 2nd line and 2nd PP line, Burns couldn't possibly double shift Madden/Gomez to cover them.

4) Ott had total control of the 1st and 2nd period of G4 until LaLime let in one softies after another. He's made some adjustments to cover up his short side and stood up a little more since NJ was shooting at the high corners. He had a solid performance in G5 and really kept his team in the game by turning away at least 3 SH 2-1 opportunities by the Devils.

That being said, with 7 units tied up on Ott futures and series bet, I couldn't possibly add more on the Sens......or could I:D:nono: . I'm gonna be passing with a strong lean on the Over.

Any thoughts??

GOOD LUCK IN WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE:D

FWIW- 2 of the sites I go to are dead even.

I think if the Sens win it will stay under the number lalime will have to bring it tonight.

Ottawa will have trouble scoring more than 1 tonight IMO.

good luck Dubber:p

ddubs,

As I said the other day, I'm sitting out tonight and tomorrow night ;) ! I've got enough riding on series wagers and a future on the Sens to win the cup made prior to the playoffs started.

Anyhow, just an FYI that I am sure you are aware of, the Sens were +130 at Pinnacle this morning and are now at +144.

Lot of people and money on the Devils tonight:nono:

Let's see what happens.

I'm feeling the Sens tonite... Anytime a series has a chance to go one more game and squeeze more money out of the public it usually happens. This happened in the Avs/Wild series and Vancouver/Wild series and I look to see it happen with this series. It will be tomorrow's game that is up in the air...

The consensus I follow has 70% on N.J and 57% on the over.
I was leaning to N.J myself but this sort of scares me and also the Roger Neilson motivational factor has me thinking.

Will more than likely stay away.
Will be rooting for the Sens.

Thanks very much for all the replies, guys. FWIW, if I didn't have so much riding on the series already, I'd pound the chit out of the Sens+146 (@ Pinnacle now) in tonite's game. Ain't no way should they be this big a dog tonite (nice grammar :D ).

Gonna take a shot at the Over, however......

Over4.5+105 x2

Playing this basically based on my assumption that the Sens can score 2. If they get 2, then I couldn't lose both bets. Then there's always the empty-netter if the Sens are down late in the game, even though we haven't seen one in ages this playoffs.

maverick, I remember that vividly, as I was rooting for the Devils big time, since the Avs had beaten my Kings in a grueling 7 game series 2 rounds before:cry: .

GOOD LUCK, PUCKERS, I MEAN PUCKSTERS:D

It's now +150 at Olympic.
This line for #1 seed that has no injuries:confused:

They might trap me into dropping a unit on Ott.

Horns help:D

ddubs,

I have taken the bait and dropped 2 units on the Sens at +150 at Olympic.

Might be setting me up here, but my reasoning is simple enough. Before this series began, I felt Ottawa could win at least 1 of 3 games in the Meadowlands. I initially felt it would be Games 3 or 4, but Game 6 will have to do!

+150 was my breaking point and I am on it for two units.

Anaheim better get their visas and passports ready for Game 1 Saturday night in Ottawa! ;) :D

spits, my itchy trigger finger got the best of me, too, before I headed out last nite, but only for 1 unit. Glad it worked out for us:D. I'm definitely just sitting on the sidelines tomorrow nite and hope my 6 units on Ott series cashes.

kev: caaaaan you dig it!:D. Throw an egg on my face for being a non-believer
 :D
