Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs (3) 5th, 6th, 7th

The Brewers needed a 9th inning comeback on opening day to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Twins this past weekend. Their offense was anemic the past couple of days, managing just two runs over 18 innings, having averaged a pitiful 3.6 runs per game vs. right-handers in 2020 (-$915). Adbert Alzolay (3.31 ERA in four starts last year) and Kyle Hendricks (2.88 in 12 starts) are both slated to take the mound at Wrigley Field. Both look like excellent values vs. visiting Milwaukee. PREFERRED: Alzolay/Hendricks.

Toronto at Texas (3) 5th, 6th, 7th

The Rangers had a 5.02 team ERA in 2020 and they just gave up 28 runs to Kansas City in a three game series. They?re offense was anemic last year, particularly vs. left-handers (-$650, averaging just 3.4 runs per game). They?ll face a couple of southpaws here at Arlington, along with a Toronto team coming off a series win at Yankee Stadium. We?ll pass on newly acquired Steven Matz, but Hyun-Jin Ryu (+540, 2.82 in 12 starts) flashed excellent form on opening day so we?ll stick with him here. BEST BET: Ryu.

Tampa Bay at Boston (3) 5th, 6th, 7th

The Red Sox tanked their opening series vs. the Orioles and now must face the defending AL champs. Tampa Bay lost some key starters, but they got a pair of stellar starts from Tyler Glasnow & Ryan Yarbrough to open the season. Boston dropped 7 of 10 to Tampa Bay in 2020 (-$200) and finished with a team ERA almost two full runs per game higher. They cost their backers a fortune in games played at Fenway Park (-$1130) in 2020 and are at it again in 2021 (-$495 so far). BEST BET: Glasnow/Yarbrough.
