NY Yankees (Pettitte) @ Tampa Bay (Bierbrodt)
Well I am taking the Bronx bombers today, I know it is allot of chalk and I may choke on it but I don't think I will!
Pettitte has been very solid this year with a 12-6 record ERA of 3.38, his last 3 starts have produced a very impressive 3-0 record and an ERA of 2.70, he is 5-1 lifetime vs the D-Rays ERA of 4.29. Bierbrodt has been very unimpressive since coming over from Arizona with a 2-2 record and a 8.22 ERA at home he is even worst going 1-2 with a 10.12 ERA, this is his first start against the Yankees.
The Yankees are 25-19 as a road favorite, 30-23 on the road and after a bad start against lefties they have turned it around going 16-9 against them. Tampa is 17-24 as a home dog, 1-4 as a home dog of -200 or more, 20-32 at home and are horrible against lefties they are 9-14 against them and are only batting .111 as a team against them in their last 10 games.
The Yankees bullpen has been very good on the road with a 2.81 ERA in 237 innings pitched. The Devil Rays bullpen has been good on the road but at home they are a different story in 266 innings pitched they have an ERA of 5.92 allowing 305 hits and 33 homeruns.
Look for the Boys from the Bronx to rebound behind the arm of Andy Pettitte who is backed up by a solid bullpen.
