Well, the good news from last night is that I didn't lose any cash. Didn't win any either, but hell, it's a start.......
Today's menu is sporting some chalk, a fave, and a doggie. What do you get when you put these on your slate?? Gawd only knows, but they way things have gone lately for me it could be a big batch of Loser Soup....... :cursin:
(i) Chalk
CHICAGO CUBS (-157) I liked see Wizz on this last night (and now Fletch), but I really think that the Cubs are going to roll a bit right now, while the Brewers may be ready to spit the bit now. They've fought the good fight, but I just don't think this squad was bred to go the distance, and may stagger from here to the wire.....
Also like Wood going today....He has been solid on the road (4-1, 3.00) and this is what this horse gets paid for.
(ii) Fave
LOS ANGELES DODGERS (-114) Going back to my old pal Jose Lima. He was roughed up twice this year by the Rockies (once in relief and once as a starter), but that was back in April and Lima is a different animal now. He is 2-0 in his L3 starts with an ERA of 2.86. I also really like the fact that this team likes to win for him (10-3 in games Lima starts). On the other side, Fassero hasn't been real great at Coors (7.71) and don't like him having to step up out of the pen vs. a very hot baseball team.
(iii) Doggy
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (+126) Not just to add a little home flavour, but I think the Jays have a legitimate shot again. They have been swinging the bats well, and should they get to Leiber (like I am hoping), the Yankee bullpen has been very vulnerable as of late. The Jays should be going with the regular line-up tonight, as they don't play again until Friday night in TBay, but the Yanks may decide to give a few guys a rest tonight, as they play again tomorrow night in Baltimore, and have already won this series? Just a thought......Go Jays.
