illinois (-1.5) 2 units. wow, baylor has a better record... illinois' defense hasn't stopped anybody lately... baylor should basically have a home field advantage... and yet illinois is suddenly favored? hmmm..... neither team played well down the stretch. baylor lost their last 3 and illinois lost 3 of their last 4. but while baylor lost their last 3 and 5 of 7 ATS, illinois covered 4 of their last 6 and went 8-4 ATS on the season.

ron zook is actually an underrated coach. i think they'll be ready to play.

arizona (+4.5) 2 units. if arizona was coached by almost anyone other than a stoops brother, this would be a bigger play. it's almost impossible to trust either one of them in a big game. but it's very questionable as to whether the 2010 alamo bowl is really a "big game". #14 in the country playing against a 7-5 arizona team that really struggled down the stretch. losing their last 4 games after a 7-1 start. the first 3 of those losses though were against stanford, usc, and oregon. after that stretch, you can forgive a 1-point loss to arizona st. anyway, my point is that arizona has had plenty of time to deal with their disappointment.
as opposed to oklahoma st, which only had one loss going into their game against oklahoma. that had to be a very tough loss on their physche (side note - i have never lost a game when i used the word 'physche' in my write-up). how do they get up for the alamo bowl against a 7-5 team? and why the hell is the line dropping?
