looks like just 2 from the big east tonight.
west virginia (-5.5) 2 units. obviously notre dame has been a huge bust this year. i've said it for 3 years now... nothing wrong with this team that a decent point guard couldn't fix. tory jackson consistently makes bad decisions with the ball. and as someone who almost always bets against nd, i LOVE to see him shooting the ball. this is just a good matchup for west virginia. having an inexperience point guard would hurt against a lot of teams in the first postseason game. and don't get me wrong, jackson is good defensively. but that's not enough to pay for wv's lack of a veteran point guard. wv is 10th in the country in 3-point fg defense, and that is key against notre dame. and this is a game that harangody could dominate the paint, but he has abandoned that part of his game for most of the year, instead shooting one fade away jumper after another.
seton hall (+6.5) 1 unit. dammit, i was going to wait to play against syracuse until they played a decent team, since they've been destroying bad teams all year. but this line is begging for 'cuse money. the orange should be favored by 8. only thing i can figure is 1.5 points for seton hall's 'home court advantage', but i don't think that's the case. 'cuse will almost assuredly have more fans there than seton hall. so the line seems off, which means i gotta play the pirates. avast, ye scury dog. sorry, international talk like a pirate day isn't for 6 months yet.
