140 seems like a play to me. What do you think?

GMAN--

So is 137.5 a play on the over for Missouri/UNLV?

Thanks

Shit ! Wifey and I are going out for a nice dinner prior to the Kent St game so I'll be out with no confirmation. I just played the game under 140 for precisely the amount that you mentioned. If Jay takes Nelson along , I'll probably be screwed, but based solely on intuition, I have to assume that he will not go. I can't pass up opportunities like this.

Spalding , be careful with this one, its not for the meek, I'm basing this play entirely on the assumption that Nelson won't play. If you have the luxury of the time to confirm that Nelson is indeed a no go, then by all means this is a pretty strong play.

in response to the 9-point loss to maryland (a few have mentioned that)

im not trying to backtrack, but im talking about a legitimate 10+ point loss.

that maryland game was 2 point game with 1:00 to go (tied with 1:39)
free throws stretched that game to the 9 point margin. it wasnt a true 9pt win by maryland.

For me, a play on this game is either on UNC or a no play.

But you proved my point with what you just said. Yes, the Maryland game was sealed for the Terps on the charity stripe. I watched it on TV as it unfolded. Who's to say that the Heels can't win by DD the exact same way? UNC starters average in the high 70%'s FT shooting. Duke pales in comparison. It's the final score that counts for our pocketbooks.

Regardless of our difference in thinking, GL w/ your plays. :)

Sorry for all the dd crap Gmn, I didn't mean to incite anything, but at least you know you're highly valued here. I'm completly with you on the Maryland game and how that score is flawed - that's why I DID NOT list it as one of the reasons I think UNC handles their business tonight. For all our sake I hope you're around for the next month, we love the incites especially on the smaller schools, but I just don't see things going dukes' way tonight. At laeast post once more to give me a little credit if I actually call this one to that extent! Vegas had to put this line low in my opinion to cover their own ass and it still wasn't low enough - I think they know the heels have this one, too. It's the history that made the biggest impact when they set this spread, along with that NATIONAL dukie-love. I'm open to critiques by anyone, but let's keep this civil - we're all here for the same reason

Pinny just dropped the total 2 points down to 138, and I seriously doubt that it was my two dollars that did it. This may be the indicator that I was looking for. Best of luck to all you guys tonight. Go Zips, I am out! :toast:

spalding.

holy shit. that total is obscenely low. makes me almost think twice. not suggesting to go crazy, but yeah -- at that number im gonna hit it good. if its a sucker play, then line me up first in line to be one. these middle of the season non-conf games are great over spots and i dont expect this one to be any different.

gecko.

the game can certainly be decided at the line. my point was that i dont see carolina winning this game by DD on their play alone. obviously we bettors dont care if we cash at the free throw line, or whatever it takes. just saying i cant fathom duke losing by DD if its a game not decided by FTs. thats the best way to put it. best of luck buddy

spang, if you get a chance to read the thread later -- thanks for the easy money on the NIU 1st half under. i played it under 64.5 and it was never a sweat. great call.

kent state 2nd half

kent is doing a great job on the offensive glass and theyre getting the stops when they need them. simply going by what i see on the tv: kent is the better team tonight and they look like they came in expecting to win.

i have had my share of teams that have folded on me in the 2nd half.

kent state will NOT be one of them. i am confident of this.

i post my lines in 99% of my posts. it would figure the one day i get lazy is the day when it comes down to where you got a 2h number at. had kent (+4) right when it came out (olympic had it, would think players there could verify).

regardless, it was an easy winner on the game.....but a painful push on the 2h. kent threw a friggin pass under their own basket which allowed a steal and an easy two (as opposed to kent holding onto the ball and getting fouled). and then akron only had 4 team fouls so time just kept burning when the zips tried to foul and get into the penalty. should hit both. instead, hit the main one, pushed the other one. would think the benefit of the doubt would go my way on a line issue. ;) certainly wasnt a win for me. just glad the 2h wasnt a loss. goes to show you gotta post lines 100 times out of 100, cuz the one day you dont......

Assuming that you watched the game G. could you please tell me how the home side only gets to the line five times in a game as physical as this one was?

No doubt, the Zips were handled inside in the first half but shored up those deficiencies in the second half pretty well. Phil Bova lets the boys play inside and swallows his whistle but by God watch those hand checks. Still the Zips had their opportunities and when they closed to within 1 with about five minutes left I felt that a victory was ensuing. Didn't happen.

Rant over, good call for you, I need Duke to get me in the black, :cursin:
