overall 29-22. haven't posted since before the holidays, but i'm home with the new year's flu today and things have been kinda dead in the ncaa hoops forum, so i thought i would give a shot at waking up the place. one play for now:

idaho + 9: aggies have played a tough road schedule but are winless away and haven't covered anyone save the cardinals, who cincy just exposed. reggie theus brought a much better aggie team (24 wins i think) to moscow last year to play a much worse vandal team (4wins?), and they couldn't cover dds as a 13 point fav. now a new coach brings two starters, four players total, from last year's squad back to idaho to try again. passos and carter still suspended and did not make the trip, that's about 17 pts and 7 rebs per game missing from the aggie lineup of two weeks ago. idaho's conference opener at home and they've had 10 days to prepare. gimme the points.

jmu + 3: this game used to be a rivalry game but the game hasn't been this closely lined in awhile. dukes finally have a decent team though no depth. that showed in a blowout loss three days ago to an improving bobby cremins-coached college of chas when jmu starters had to go 60+ minutes 24 hours. now dukes have had a few days to regroup for their conference home opener, and i just get the feeling that they'll be sitting for the rams. vcu off a apparently impressive win in peoria, but bradley a bit down this year and ruffin, the heart and soul of the braves, played hurt and was limited to 12 minutes and 4 points. besides, never liked the scenario where a team comes off a long layoff to play a tough conference road game. vcu shot 53.3% on 9 0f 19 shooting from behind the arc at bradley; jmu shot 11.8% on 2 of 17 treys at c of c. seriously doubt either number repeats tonight.

indiana st +3: this was supposed to be a rebuiding year for the bluejays, but nine creighton wins over nobody in particular appears to have slightly inflated tonight's number. bluejays lost virtually everyone from last year, and sycamores return almost all, but tonight's line is identical to last year's when indiana st pulled off the upset. now former bluejay player and longtime asst mckenna coaches in terre haute, and will have the home team pumped, primed, and well coached versus the bluejay press. intangible comes from creighton coming off home loss to ill st, but based on preseason analysis, sycamores appear to be an overlay.
