The Lakers are basically an expansion team! But, last night reminds us all that anyone can win on any given night - that Sixers game was awesome!! That's why I love this game. Sure, there is parody, but they are all professional basketball players, and some of the best athletes in the world. What a debut by Carter-Williams.
A couple takeaways from the first big day of action -
1) Monty Williams has quickly reclaimed his second-half meltdown crown. Last year he had some stiff competition from Lawrence Frank, but with Frank no longer heading up a team, looks like Monty came out quick and established his typical modus operandi.
2) There is a new requirement for betting on the NBA. If you are going to bet on the Raptors this season, you must first sit through at least 30 minutes of one of their games. I was forced to watch the majority of this contest last night, and the offensive sets that Dwane Casey was running made me feel stupid. And the Celtics are not going to be good, at all. They have nothing offensively. That was a horrible basketball game. I hope my bets on the Raptors are few and far between.
3) The Cavs are going to be one of the most fun teams to watch this season. They hustle, hard.
4) Coach's lucky ass is 1-0. We'll let his "free money" statement slide for now. I'll let you know if I receive any more nuggets of wisdom from him. Way to go coach.
That's it - doubt I will have any plays tonight, but I will check it out.
Good luck
