Mentioned before the series started, Johnson should start Game 3. It was based on needing a strong left hander to set the tone in Yankee Stadium.

Anderson did an admirable job, probably should not have been pulled. Who knows and not willing to go there, as that would be bogus as a Monday QB.

As mentioned, the press all over the Schilling 3 day rest, but one needs to factor this in, none the less. What will happen?

We all saw the 1-9 stats for 3 rest starters in the World Series, may be an abberation when you think about Schilling though.

Tough game to call. I decided mind set as the key factor tonight. Arizona would have won last night, excluding key errors.

Think several DBack players thought they would go 3-0, with the way Anderson was pitching, until the mental lapses. Notice Anderson's reaction after getting pulled. He should not have gone there, felt it dragged the whole team down.

All goes back to mind set. Doin't want to make this thread into a book, but saw some key indications last night.

KC - I am not sure I agree with your assessment that the D'Backs should have won. I think they were very lucky to have only lost by 1 run, considering all the extra outs they gave the Yanks...

Anderson pitched well, but was over 110 on pitch count...may be that manager wanted to keep him for another possible outing...

Using Shilling tonight reminds me of Micky Lolich quite a few years ago pitching 3 games for Detroit vs. St. Louis in a great series...
I agree this is a tough game to call, but I think Arizona wins tonight, and loses tomorrow - any more thoughts??

Psych factor. Maybe DBacks should have won last nite, but couldn't. You could almost feel the momentum shift with Anderson pitching beyond expectation, the Yanks incapable of hitting much at all, but yet making the necesarry scores and outs. When you lose a game with great pitching from an unlikely source, you give the oponent new life. Beware. Taking the Yanks here +119.
