MJ's Record: 7-5-2

Played some of this games overnight but I would still play them at the current line as the value still there.....

NCAA BB

Iowa State -10 -110

Iowa State is returning 3 starters from last year team which won 11 of its final 15 games anf 4 of those wins were vs ranked opponents. The cyclones backcourt of Curtis Stinson and Will Blaylock is probably on the top 5 in the country. These 2 guys can flat out play and now on their 3rd season together big things are to come for this team. Stinson is coming off a season in which he average 17.2ppg and 2.3 steals per game which ranked him 2nd in the big 12 last season and earned him all conference defensive team honors. Blalock is just as good defensively as he finished the season with 60 steals which ranked him 4th in the big 12 conference. In the front court 6-6 sophomore Rahshon Clark will provide plenty of offense as he is the cyclones best shooter and had a very nice NCAA tourney last year avg. 7.3ppg and 4.1rpg. Adding to these trio of future all conference team is the 6th natinally ranked recruiting class. Jessan Gray is a tough JUCO transfer that will provide the cyclones with another weapon in the frontcourt and shawn Haggart is a 6-9 Forward who was to be believe a top 50 recruit in the nation. Freshman C Theo davis is a 6-10 kid with the ability to score from the perimeter. IMO this team will be a force to reckon with in the big 12 this year.

South Florida on the other hand is so BANGED UP they look like a mash squad.....G's James Holmes, Collin Dennis and Melvin Buckley are all nursing injuries right now and will be limited in the court if even they play at all. F Zaron Cann is also nursing and injury and its questionable for todays game. Dennis and Buckley are the teams best offensive weapons and since they are banged up I question how effective they will be today vs a very good Cyclones team. SF is already on a rebuilding mode after returning just 2 starters from the team that went 14-16 last season in CUSA. They are now in the Big East and we can all expect for them be in the cellar all season long. This team has already lost to Texas A&M CC, and to Florida International. They depende solely on the offense of the guard play and IMO this will be negated by the great defensive play of the Cyclones guards. Adding to that will be the factor that the bulls are shoprthanded and Iowa State should be able to cruise here to a nice DD victory....

Central florida PK -110

I see this line is already at -1.5 but I would still play it with confidence. UCF returns 3 starters from the team that took UCONN to the final minute on the 1st round of the NCAA tourney a season ago. G's Joshua Peppers 13.1ppg 3.3 ppg and Justin Rose 6.7 ppg 4.3 rpg a season ago are very capable of providing a spark on the offensive side of the ball. The frontcourt will be anchored by C Anthony Williams and F's Marcus Johnson and Lavelle payne who are a bunch of kids who will banged down low with the best. So the balance its there for this team to play good, sound fundamental basketball this season.....

On the other side we go Sam Houston State, a team returning just 2 starters from the 21-12 team of a season ago. The problem here is that out of the 2 returning starters G Chris Jordan 11.1 ppg 4.2 rpg 3.0 apg is the only one with any offensive ability so they will have to rely on F Ryan bright 8.3 ppg 4.5 rpg coming off the bench a season ago, to be a more productive part of this offense. The rest of the line up is up for grabs.......As the news could not get any worse, G Chris Jordan is nursing a knee injury that has limited him to 14, 4, 14 minutes per game in the last 3 and without him 100% they will have a very hard time beating anyone. So I will back the better team here with more experience, talent and an edge on ppg, fg%, ft%, defense and turnover category, who is healthy and ready to play.....

Central Florida 78 Soth Florida 67

Eastern illinois +1 -105

WOW...when this line came out the wrong team was favored and now it sits at -1 but I still will play it as IMO EI will win their 1st game of the season tonight. Eastern has dominated this series over the years going 9-1 SU in the last 10 games between these 2 schools and there is NO reason to believe that it will change tonight. EI returns 3 starters from the 12-16 team of a year ago and will count on a balance attack with G Josh Gomes 16.8 ppg 3.6 rpg and F Bobby Catchings 9.0 ppg 3.6 rpg a season ago. Newcomers F Billy parrish and G Mike Robinson have shown brilliant play already this early in the season and will be big contributors to this team this season.......

Well, Morehead state IMO is probably one of the worst teams in CBB. This team believe it or not have only 2 players coming back from last season's 11-16 team and it looks like a High school squad....They are just too young and inexperience to compete at this level this season. The only returning players G Quinton smith 10.8 ppg 3.2 rpg 3.3 apg and F Cory Burns 4.1 ppg 2.8 rpg a season ago will have to carry the load for this team and IMO this is just too much to ask for 2 players that lack playmaking abilities......Will take the better and more experience team with the edge on every category on both sides of the ball......

Michigan state -7 -115 1st half
Michigan State -14 -107

The Spartans are coached IMO by the best coach in the NCAA at this time. HC Tom Izzo does it year in and year out with less talent than coach K, Roy williams and co...... This year version of the spartans is led by 3 returning starters from the team that made a run at the final 4 a season ago and ended witha 26-7 record. The spartans will be led by go to G Maurice Ager 14.1 ppg 3.9 rpg and G Shannon Brown 10.9 3.2 rpg a season ago. This 2 guards will form a formidable backcourt that will provide plenty of 3 pointers and a lot of highlights on ESPN this season. On the Frontcourt they return C Paul Davis, who although inconsistent at times, could become one of the premier frontcourt players in the country. Davis started playing as a freshman and now on his senior year he must take charge of this team down the stretch...This team is deep so the rest of the positions will be rotated among the many skill players on this team......

UWBG will be on a rebuilding mode after only returning 1 starter from the team that went 17-11 last season. The Phoenix are counting on a strong flux of newcomers to carry the load and that will not be possible when facing one of our nation's best teams in MSU......These 2 teams met a season ago when UWB was a much better team and the final score was 104-46...yeah that is correct a 58 point routing by the Spartans and this year UWGB is not even close to last years team so here I will bet with confidence as MSU should roll to a blow-out victory having the edge on every category on both sides of the ball........
