Knuble lines up

After his strong two-way performance on the Bruins' fourth line Saturday, Mike Knuble was rewarded with a promotion to the No. 1 line last night. Knuble skated with Joe Thornton and Bill Guerin and got 15:07 of playing time.

``It's a big responsibility playing with them, but it's good,'' said Knuble. ``I think this is the way it's supposed to be: When you play well, you get rewarded with more ice time. Joe's at the top of his game right now. He might be having the best year of anyone in the league all-around, not just scoring, the whole package. And Billy's on his way to another 40-goal-plus season.'' . . .

Patriots maniac

There was a mild outbreak of Super Bowl fever in the B's locker room, with Massachusetts natives Guerin and Hal Gill probably the most seriously affected.

``The Pats are going to win,'' said Guerin. ``They're the better team, they stick together and they make the big plays. St. Louis maybe has more good individuals than anything else, but the Pats are a good unit with a better team atmosphere.''

``The guys are giving me a little grief because I root so hard for them,'' said Gill, once a standout high school quarterback at Nashoba Regional. ``I really like Drew (Bledsoe) I really root for him. It was exciting to see him back in there. He throws hard and I like that. He could have been a distraction. That might have killed the team but he handled it great.

``I don't think they won every game as pretty as they might like, but they won.''

I?ll just put my stuff under your thread for today and lets see if we can get a consensus.

Theodore will be in goal for Montreal.
______________________________________________
OVERALL:
In his last 10 games G.A.A = 2.3
Under the following distribution:
0 goal=20%
1goals=40%
2goals=10%
3goals=10%
5goals=10%
7goals=10%
Theodore is giving 3 goals or less in 80% of his last 10 games.
Whit out the 2 extremes GAA= 1.87
______________________________________________
HOME:
In his last 7 HOME G.A.A=1.14
0 goal=42%
1goals=42%
5goals=14%

Theodore is giving 1 goals or less in 84% of its HOME games
Whit out 2 extremes GAA=.60

Montreal at home when scoring 2 goals or more 12-3 (71% of its home game)
Montreal at home when scoring 1 goal or less 1-5 (29% of its home game)

Boston on the road when allowing 1 goal or less 3-0 (14% of away game)
Boston on the road when allowing 2 goals or more 7-11 (86% of away game)

COMING OUT OF THIS SITUATION: Montreal is scoring 2 goals or more(71%) at home and Boston is giving 2 goals or more in 86% of away games. When we combine both record for this situation we have Montreal winning at 69%.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Montreal at home I will consider the stats posted for Theodore.
When Boston is playing away scoring 2 goals or less 2-7
When Boston is playing away scoring 3 goals or more8-2

3 goals or more only once in last 7 home game and more than 3 goal in only 2 games out of last 10 when theodore in goals.

I will add Montreal record against good offensive team, Boston offense is at 2.90 GF
Montreal against offense over 2.70 in last 7 situations.
Sanjose 2.95 W3-1
Ottawa 3.17 T1-1
Washin 2.77 W5-3
Washin 2.77 W2-0
Philad 3.15 L3-5
Toronto2.95 T1-1
Nyisl 2.75 W4-0

G.A.A in those games is at 1.71
Whit out 2 extremes GAA at 1.20

Which points out for boston when scoring 2 goals or less 2-7 (22% win)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
will look at some other stuff later.

Good stuff guys!

Boston tends to go under on road, Montreal does at home. Following this angle, you'd be 28-17 ATS this season so far.

Boston is under 5 closing line away 10-5-3
Montreal is under 5 closing line at home 9-3-3

But 2 of 3 meetings this season landed on 5, and 5 of last 6, and 5 of the 8 meetings in 2001.

so looks like push, or under. Which means with my luck it will probably go over!

Frogy, Terryray - I'm still staying away from the B's untl after the break. IF I were to, my lean was to Bos or the under.

Are you guys leaning toward something?

Frogy,

The Canadiens got robbed. How Stumpel didn't get called for interference on the game winning goal, I will never know. I'm happy the B's go into the break with a win but they got away with one.

Nice comeback to tie the game.

Enjoy the All Star break and I lok forward to your posts on Monday.

Prospector...I agree. I'm just talking about the interference on the GW goal. The B's outplayed MTL and without a great night from Theodore, that game is a blowout.

With the Boston past up there in Montreal, I can't believe that they got away with that play. It should have been a penalty.

Somewhere Don Cherry is cracking up about a Boston, Too many men on the ice, penalty...

Enjoy the Super Bowl & go Pats
