Well you are smart for riding the hot team. When I was in college (over 10 years ago) I knew an older gentleman who always told me to ride the hot team until they lose. He said never plan on the streak being broken, ride it out until it comes to an end. There are always hot teams that catch fire and go on nice winning streaks in every sport. Columbus and Minny had nice streaks going in hockey a little while back. I rode them until it ended.
