LN 4-4, +292.5
Season 84-84, +715.5

2 tough 1-run loses in the late games, but both had legitimate shots at winning the game, just the way it goes sometimes. I'll take a winning nite anyday, though. :D

Day game..........

Tigers-105x2 (Sparks/George)
Under 9.5x1
Sparks has been a nice surprise for the Tigers, and their best starter by far this year, with a sparkling ERA of 2.30. In his 4 starts, he has given up 1, 3, 1, 2 ERs including 2 games vs the offensive powerhouse ChiSox. Sparks has had success vs KC bats, as only Ibanez, and Beltran have a career BA over .300. Detroit is 5-0 in Sparks's last 5 starts vs KC. George is making his 2nd start of the year after a strong performance vs Bos (5.1IP, 5H, 2ER, 3K, 2BB) with only 85 pitches thrown. He has a good 90mph fastball with good offspeed pitches to throw batters off balance, and is a potential staff ace of the future. Meanwhile, KC has really cooled off, going 2-8 after a 4-4 start, batting only .218 vs RHP at home this year. They've scored 16 runs in the last 6 games, including 2 shutouts. The Tiger bats have actually done well vs LHP this year, batting .288., and have gone 4-4 last 8 after the 0-11 start. Plenty of motivation for the Tigers today as a victory in this rubber game will give them the 1st road series win of the year, and 2nd of last 4 series.

BTW, Cederstrom is behind the plate today, 3-0 on Overs (last year was 20-15), thus only 1unit on the Under, but I still think this one has all the reasons for a yawner if you like seeing runs.

GOOD LUCK today!!!

ddubs....just wanna wish ya good luck today.

Like the Tigers play today. Humidity is in the 90% range in Kansas City which should help Sparks even more. The knuckleball should be dancing today. ;)

GOOD LUCK BROTHER:thefinger :thefinger :D :thefinger :thefinger

Looks like pretty nasty weather condition out there, 48 degrees, light rain, 20-30 mph gust straight in from center.

A few nite games.........

Hou/Fla Under8.5x2 (Oswalt/Dempster)
Oswalt is on fire right now, but I'm not willing to lay 160 or more with Jimmy and a struggling offense. Marlins have never faced Oswalt so that gives a major advantage to Hou. Dempster another one of the top young guns, has pitched 7, 8, 7, 8 innings while giving up only 3, 1, 4, 3ER in those starts. Like the Under.

LA/Pitt Under8.5+110x2 (Daal/Williams)
More of a stubborn play than anything. Despite the major offensive output yesterday, these are still 2 of the weakest batting teams in the NL. Daal pitched briliantly in his last start, and has only given up 2ER from a Bonds homer in the opening day in relief of Browny. Williams has also done very well, only 9hits allowed in 17IP, 4 of the 5 ER were from 4 solo homers. Like the Under here, too.

Cards+125x1.5 (Kile/Leiter)
Both pitchers have dominated the other team. Kile is 12-4 with 3.29ERA vs Mets, while Leiter is 1-0, 2.57ERA. Relying on a little gut feeling and the "due" theory. Piazza is supposed to sit this one out, and Leiter went 9innings last game vs Spos, 3 of his 4 starts have been around 110 pitches.

GOOD LUCK!!

DBacks+130x2 (Stott/Moss)
Stott gives you 110% every outing, even though his body may not respond the way he wants it to be. This will be his 2nd start since his scratch from the flu, and he pitched well last start giving up 3ER in 5IP. With the way the Braves bats are struggling, I'm counting on him to give me another strong 5, maybe 6 and then let the bullpen take over. DBacks's bats are starting to get in sync now, as well.

Cubbies-110x2 (Clement/Schmidt)
See ndnfan's write-up, pretty much conveyed what my feelings are for this game.

GOOD LUCK TONITE!!
