Florida -7 over Miami **
Gators ended season a good note....have more depth ,solid qb and great rbs...defense is loaded..Canes start 2 freshmen tackles and red shirt frosh at qb....both teams loaded with "greyhounds"..although this game is in a neutral site there will be more Gator fans in Orlando...my daughter checked in Lee Corso at Disney yesterday....he had about 3-4 newspapers and a pepsi as he checked in....my daughter said to herself " that is my father"...he was so nice my Daughter called him Mr Corso..he said call me " coach"... get A text a few minutes later " dad do you know a Lee Corso,he just checked in to our hotel..."...
Although it was a rivalry years ago think Gators are a little better ....Canes new coach, new system, new qb...might take a few games to get their act together....playing Florida in its first game could be tough...but Irvin's speech should have them pumped until the 2nd half...

Zona -11 over Hawaii *
over 71.5 ***
Bows have talent and a decent qb... Tate could be a top qb since he is a dual threat....think Zona is quicker, has more over all talent...Bows defense is the problem but they can score... in Zons'a last 3 games they gave up 34,69 and 41 pts...Bows gave up 31,30,28,56,50,49,..they have a "gun slinger qb McDonald ..this looks like a shootout ..

Rutgers -14.5 over UMass ********
Rutgers -15.5 **

Next Fridays game
Army -23.5 over Rice ***
Going to the game here at West Point..will breakdown game..

Still a qb battle between Carter and Sitkowski at Rutgers..Ash will start the best qb that gives him a chance to win...he could bench his high recruit Sit and start Carter...Ash and his staff cannot worry about the next year..they will all be fired... I would like to see Carter start...he is a lefty and is mobile in the pocket...not a strong arm though...when Texas Tech played Texas,Texas defense played tight man/man and made him throw long ..he has limited arm strength but can hit players with his quick hit passes. I'm sure UMass has watched that game.....and with Blackshear and Pacheco in the backfield UMass will not be able to stop them...If Art Sit starts being ranked the worst D-1 passer in college football...what scares me is " on 3rd down the highest yards gained by Rutgers all season was a " roughing the passer penalty"...if that doesn't scare every body....but again UMass has new coach, new coordinators ,new qb and no defense...think Rutgers win this in a blowout...

3 days ago in NY State sports betting became legal...so I drove up to Resorts in Monticello, only 23 miles from my house and made a few plays did put a little more down on Rutgers but the line has now jumped a point...really don't think it matters because I see the Scarlet nites winning by 3 td's or more...
good luck tonite...will update the Battle of the qb's in Piscataway..and capp the Rice-Army game later this week...

Texas AM -33 over Texas St ***
Aggies are loaded this year and Jimbo has done one of the best jobs recruiting the past 2 yrs...Bobcats have new coach in Spavital who is a big time "innovator " on offense...but he doesn't have his players and schemes yet...Vitt won the qb battle and has only 4 off players back..TAM has a stud qb in as one of the top qb's in the SEC in Mond..he did throw for over for 400 yds vs Clemson in a 28-26 loss last yr...when Texas St plays the big boys and collects its big pay check in opening games in the past 4 years they have been beaten bad...lyr Rutgers 35-7,Colorado 37-3,Ark 42-3,Houston 64-3 and FSU 59-16..last yr they had one common opponent..TAM beat UL Monroe 48-10 and Tx St lost 20-14...but the key of this game is the " Line of scrimmage"...Aggies line " outsizes Bobcat line on both off and def... size, speed, etc they have 4 OL starters back and Corbin at Rb...Mond will have all the time to pass with protection...Bobcat DL is avg ..they do have 3-4 solid linebackers that is there one strength..there db's are all 5'9,5'10 vs TAM's wr's at 6'1,6,2 6,'3 ...the talent level here is so different...Mond has all his wr's back from last yr and OL...only thing that scars me is " look ahead" game..TAM is at Clemson next week...but think Aggies are leading so big before they sub...in the 4th...Bobcats with new coach and offense will need time to "gel"..playing at Kyle field is not a nice play to open the season..in front of 100,000... watched a simulated game the other day on EA Sports...AM won 40-24 and the Bobcats tackling was unreal...don't think that will happen tonite...

Zona st -24.5 over Kent St **
Last yr Herm and co opened up vs UTSA and won 49-7..they ended the season losing to Oregon by 2 at Oregon...with 8 offensive players back think they have no problem with Kent who won 2 games last yr even though everyone is back from that team...

Rutgers will not announce their qb until game time...the reason is both have different styles so why let Umass see that...I think Ash will bench his super soph and go with Texas Tech grad transfer Carter..the irony is UMass also has a qb battle with different styles so they won't announce their qb...regardless I will put my trust on Rutgers coach Ash on who starts to give them the best chance to win....him trying to develop a soph qb when he fired doesn't help him...the line is now -15.5 I also took the Half time at at -8

back tomorrow with the Rice Army game
