somewhere over the rainbow
Posted earlier in addicts thread but wanted others thoughts. Did I miss anything?

NFC east
Redskins, same team different year. D Jackson hamstring injury. Good game plan, run first. Defense played above expectation, special teams ultimately lost the game for them. No halftime adjustments...Gruden isn't smart enough for that.

Cowboys, bad injury to Dez. They will miss Murray more than they expected. Witten is an oldie but goody, Romos safety net. Tough schedule ahead with trips to Philly, NO and NYG and for ATL, NE and Sea. 2-6

Giants, no running game. Eli/Beckham needs Cruz in lineup to be more effective. Secondary not as bad as I thought. Get JPP back and the defense wont be half bad.

NFC North
Packers, still there division to lose. Nelson out, JAMES JONES IN!!!

Lions, blow huge lead on road. Who is there RB? Is Calvin Johnson old? They miss Ahole Suh and Fairley

Bears, Forte is still a workhorse 141 yds rushing and a td and 5 receptions 25 yds, fantasy stud. Fox is a good HC, he can get them to maybe .500 but Cutler makes too many mistakes. Defense needs a pass rush

NFC South
Panthers, no true #1 wr. Ginn dropped wide open td. Cam did spread it around to 9 or 10 different pass catchers. Olsen complete fantasy week 1 bust. Kuechly concussion hopefully not serious. Panthers D is there strength.

Saints, tough first game to travel to Zona. Who is there RB?, held to about 50 yds rushing. Cooks a week 1 fantasy dud, Spiller may help the offense but Brees misses his tall target Graham especially in the redzone where NO settled for fgs instead of tds.

Bucs, oh boy! not a lot of positives here. Winston played like a lost rookie, welcome to the NFL (Lebeaugh had a little to do with that). Having no Evans hurt. Martin looked good but Bucs down to much to commit to the run. Defense is a work in progress. Seferian Jenkins one bright spot for TB. Gonna be a long season

NFC West
Seahawks, tough division game. Chancellor huge missing piece. On side kick to start O.T.? Lost confidence in Defense? Not reading too much into week 1 for Seattle, they will be fine.

Cardinals, How valuable is Carson Palmer to Zona? 300+ yds 3 tds, 8-1 record last year before his injury, 3-5 after...protect Palmer! Ellington injured could hurt, Fitz loves having Palmer at qb. Arizona is gonna be a tough place for any team to go to and win.

Rams, great win for them. I have always liked HC Fischer. Solid defense sacking Wilson 6 times and great special teams. Foles looked solid

AFC East
Bills, great first game for Rex and the Bills. That D is gonna be hard to run on and picked Luck twice. Another great home stadium, gonna be tough for opponents to win there. Tyrod didn't get sacked and managed the game, exactly what they need. How about Percy Harvin, he's a weapon if used right, Rex will do that.

Pats, Brady is Brady. Gronk is Gronk. Edelman looked uncoverable, interested to see Bills approach next week. Lewis may take time from Blount. Defense looks like it may have some wholes allowing 351 through the air and Williams 127 yds on ground. Are they still the class of the division? Until someone knocks them off you gotta think so.

Dolphins, special teams won the game for them. Landry looks like a stud. They didn't get Miller involved enough. Defense should keep them in most games this year.

Jets, Better team with Fitz at qb. Ivory primed for a solid year, running game in general a strength 150+ rushing. Marshall/Decker a nice #1 #2 punch at wr. Solid defense but in maybe the toughest division in football this year.

AFC North
Bengals, Dalton solid game and not sacked. Nice 1/2 Hill/Bernard RB combo. Eifert might be a top 5 TE this year. This was a win against the Raiders but still a long trip and week 1. Bengals look to be a division contender.

Steelers, a lot of mistakes in week 1. FGs instead of tds. Brown will catch 7-10 balls every game. Williams looked great, will he take some time from Bell? Defense and kicking game a concern.

Ravens, Suggs done for year a huge loss. Tough first game for Flacco, just over 100 yds passing 2 picks (one a pick 6). Ravens still had chances to win this game and will be tough at home.

Browns, Its Johny Football time. He will get hurt playing the way he does. They still cant stop the run. Gonna be another long year in Cleveland.

AFC South
Titans, In sole possession of first place! Mariota 4 tds no ints, quick start helped him. Titans over 100 yds rushing, nice balanced attack. Defense (labeaugh) forced turnovers and 4 sacks. Nice start to the season.

Texans, QB controversy already. They miss Foster. Hopkins 9 catches 98 yds 2 tds, nice fantasy line. Oline played horrible. Defense very disappointing except JJ, 9 tackles 2 sacks...beast. Secondary must get better!

Colts, tough first game at improved Bills. They will get better but how long is Hilton out? Running game struggled and I'm not in the Frank Gore camp, well past his prime. Still Colts division to lose IMO

Jags, Oline is still atrocious. Yeldon shows promise. A lot of blown chances. Kicker missed Xpt and fg. Another long year in Jax

AFC West
Broncos, Peyton is showing age, no td passes 1 int (when did that happen last?). Thomas got hurt, CJ Anderson hurt (fantasy week 1 bust). You can kick some long ass fgs in Denver, both kickers had 50+ yarders that woulda gone from 60+. Defense did a solid job ultimately won the game for them. Is this the year Denver takes a step back, maybe SD or KC?

Chiefs, nice opening road win. Defense looked real good 5 sacks and a couple to's. Still no tds to Wr's but Kelce had 2 and Charles 1 receiving. Thinking Maclin may get a few this year. Alex Smith a game manager and Chiefs D give them a chance in any game. Thursday should be a good one.

Chargers, nice comeback win. Rivers 400 + yds, Allen 15 catches 166 yds, week 1 fantasy studs! How can you not love Danny Woodhead, hard nose underated player...2 tds. Defense held Calvin to 2 catches.

Raiders, They didn't do much right. Carr hurt, Murray 44 yds rushing. Defense no sacks or to's. Same ole Raiders.

Thanks BG for write ups.
RB is Ameer Abdullah rookie from Nebraska. LB Levy key part to the D was DNP & yes life without asshole Suh shows. TE was targeted more then Calvin that tells you something is wrong. Also 3rd down conversions 33 % YIKES.

good stuff bgc.....

that brainfart perpetrated jointly by coughlin/eli last night was one of thee most embarrassing moments I can remember in my long history of watching the nfl...

Detroit is missing something....I think it`s true consistency from Stafford...yes,he has a great arm and can make every throw with a flick of his wrist.....stat-monster.....but theres something missing there...still,he`s better than most...just may never be enough to get to the next level with Rodgers in the division...Abdullah looks like a keeper...

I wish the ravens had grabbed james jones when they realized perriman was going to be out until the rapture...

imo, that`s two bonehead decisions by pete carroll after that atrocious onside kick decision in overtime.....and who didn`t know(after the horrible pass at the goaiine in the superbowl)that seattle was running lynch on that 4th and 1?...painted himself into a corner...

wondering how much the saints are going to miss graham...considering all the attention he draws from defenses,i`m guessing much more than the stats will tell...

I know many disagree, but I`m also a jeff fisher fan...his record of late hasn`t been great(in no small part due to sam"glass" Bradford),but I think he`s a solid coach and if foles does something there along with that defense, they could surprise folks...aaron Donald is a flat-out beast....and if todd gurley ever regains his form?(lotta ifs...but the potential is there).....

Watched all of Eagles/Falcons and about half of the Viking game which was like watching paint dry.

Eagles, nice comeback in second half but can't play from behind every week in the NFL. A lot of dink and dunk, didn't stretch the field at all. Murray doesn't fit this offense especially late in games. Ryan Matthews looked real good and Sproles should be starting for some team. Defense played well in second half. Chip Kelly still not NFL caliber coach imo.

Falcons, great debut for coach Quinn. Defense wasn't great in second half but did enough to get the job done, they have to get better on third down, philly converted a couple long ones. Julio is a beast, best wr in the league. Falcons made a lot of mistakes, holding calls on wr's brought back a couple big plays.

Vikings, AP's absence from NFL for year showed, cant figure out why he didn't play preseason. Oline allowed 5 sacks, that wont get it done. Defense looked too worried about Kaepernick running and ended up giving up over 200 yds on the ground.

49ers, running game was a strength. Hyde won some fantasy leagues for some guys last night, close to 200 yds of offense on the ground and through the air for him alone to go along with 2 tds, where was he drafted in your fantasy leagues? Kaepernick looked poised in pocket and ran when he had to. Very stingy defense but can they continue that?

I liked hyde in college and thought he might do something as a pro with his combination of size and change of direction....what I didn`t realize is that he`s the type of back that relishes the contact...the more they give him the ball, the more he seemed to like it...whether he can take the pounding will be the issue(he is a pretty darn big back)....not hard to understand why the 9ers were fine letting gore walk....hyde looks like the real thing to me....I honestly think he has the "potential" to fit right in there with the incredible group of new backs that came out this year(and that`s saying a mouthful when you consider that this year`s group includes guys like Abdullah/gurley and Gordon among others)

Peterson never seemed to find a groove last night..not surprising after the layoff....no doubt he will...same can be said for Bradford in the first half....but once things started clicking, the eagle offense was scary....it`s possible that a flat out drop by Mathews(that resulted in a "no-contact" deflection right to a defender)probably cost philly the game...Atlanta was struggling to stop philly in the second half...I believe philly overcame 4 ten yard penalties on one drive to score a td.... philly should score tons of points this year....matter of fact I already moneyline parred pitt and the iggles next week....respect dallas and san fran is better than some predicted but I doubt either penn. team starts the season 0-2 coming home off road losses....

I generally like bridgewater and think he`ll be solid for Minnesota for years to come(particularly once Peterson rounds into form)....I think he had a bit of an off night last night...it happens, particularly on the road..he looks like he knows his way around in the pocket...even under pressure,he seems calm back there.......

what happened to cordarelle Patterson?...all that natural athletic ability?...
