Week 1 Selections: Thursday -Labor Day

Iowa State -8- State is 6-2 ats its last 8 vs the MAC and 43-28 ats at home since 1992. Toledo has gone 8-3 ats it last 11 season road openers, but none of those were against the Big 12. In fact, the Rockets have only played a Big 12 foe once ever and suffered a 49 point loss to Kansas. Going with the better conference at home. LOSS

San Diego St -2- The Aztecs are now 2-0 against UTEP in their only two meetings since 98 and are surprisingly 8-1 ats their last 9 as a favorite. Also love the fact they play well in home openers, now 10-5 ats their past 15. LOSS

Buffalo U -6 - :shrug: Should anyone really bet this game? All I know is Temple has only won 1 of their past 17 Sept games and is 0-8 vs the MAC. The Bulls have NEVER been favored in a D1 game and Vegas makes them lay 6 out the gate! Maybe they will start a new trend going 1-0 ats as a favorite. PUSH

N. Illinois +17.5 - Ohio State better not sleep on the Huskies. State is now just 3-5 ats vs the MAC and this will be the best team they have faced from the conference. LOSS

Rutgers +5- The Tar Heels are just 3-9 ats their past 12 Sept games. WIN

Nebraska -21- The Cornhuskers beat L tech by 29 in their only previous meeting when the teams were more evenly matched. This game won't be close. WIN

Akron +18.5 - State has beaten the Zips by an avg of 42 points the past 2 meetings and the opens line at only 17.5? FADE THE PUBLIC. Got line @ playersonly.com just before kick off WiN

Navy -11.5- The Midshipmen are now 6-2 ats their last 8 vs. CUSA. LOSS

Syracuse +14.5- Believe it or not, the Orange are 6-2 ats their past 8 vs the ACC. I'll take the points. WIN

Baylor+7 - Don't sleep on Baylor. They have been a very profitable dog as of late, will buy the hook for insurance.

Under 40.5 Florida St/Miami- These games are always a dog fight. First one to 21 wins...

Over 40 S.Carolina/Miss State-State brings back 8 on the offensive side of the ball while SC has just 4 starters coming back on a squad ranked 47th in total defense last year. The loss of Norwood at RB just might equate to the ball flying in the air a bit more for the Bulldogs. 8 starters coming back for the Gamecocks on the offensive side means better production and more points under "the coach". LOSS

Under 17 2nd Half- have to hedge... WIN

Under 42.5 BC/Central Michigan

BC lost 4 of its offensive linemen and their top 2 WR's. They have 6 starters coming back on the defensive side of the ball that held opp to 15 points per game last year. Cent Mich returns 7 on defense and 4 on the o- line. The ground game might be the best option for both of these teams tonight. LOSS

Fresno State -12 - Tonight will be some sweet revenge for the Bulldogs. Head coach Pat Hill has had a long time to stew over last years loss as a 16 point favorite. 14 starters coming back for a team who is looking to get their swagger back. Not to mention, State is now 5-1-1 ats their last 7 vs Nevada with an average margin of victory of over 28 points prior to last years loss. LOSS :cursin:

The way the Bulldogs finished last season left a bitter taste in their mouth. Last years loss came after the biggest game in school history for State where they took USC down to the wire. I think it knocked the sails out of them and we all know how they finished up the year. Either the letdown continues or Fresno opens up a can of whip-ass tonight. I'm banking on the latter.
