As a reminder to those newbies, I specialize in Big 12 games, but will venture into other matchups from time to time, particularly early in the season, when I also usually play a few more games than usual. Unless specified all plays are of equal "one unit value", i.e., a standard play.

With that out of the way, here we go....

Iowa State

Texas Tech Over

Alabama-Birmingham

Baylor

Northern Illinois

Tennessee

Washington State

Houston

Love the plays.
Houston should and I say "should" destroy Rice.
I don't like to rely on Cougar High in any sport, but my god Rice should be bad.
Rice has switched away from the option attack and will throw more. This was a 1-10 team last season(UH beat them 35-18 late last season).
Rice offense is led by Major Applewhite in his 1st season as OC.
Good Luck. Rice goes winless this season.

One in the same.
He was the QB coach for that juggernaut offense of Syracuse last season.

I just don't see him as being ready to coordinate a down the field passing offense with kids who ran the option last season, but maybe I am wrong.

They have bad personnel to begin with....and all wrong for the new offense. Think Nebraska under Callahan but 25 times worse. Houston should destroy them.

Nice opportunity for Major, but not at all deserved. I think it was driven in large part in the hope of helping to recruit local kids.

I think OU struggles to put points on the board early in the year. 7-10 points out of UAB should be enough.
Like Baylor when I got them at(+9).Also like the Over 48 in that game.Baylor has a spread offense and is going to play a style "somewhat" similar to TT(in theory).

Yes, I'm a TCU homer, but don't normally bet on them because they historically don't cover. BUT, now that the line has dropped to 6.5, I'll place a bet on the Frogs. Baylor is breaking in a new offense - one that even Tech fans will tell you takes about 3 games to start clicking.

TCU is starting 4 new OL, but they also started 3 new OL last year and did pretty well in their first game. This may wind up being a defensive battle, so I'd take the under 48.

I agree with the Houston pick and I'm leaning toward the Northern Illinois pick.
