This may seem like a homer play, but it's simply a play on how big of a mismatch this game will be on the field. The 2 biggest reasons that I see most people taking USM is that MSU has LSU on deck and USM will be improved. USM should be improved, but not that much. USM ranked 106th in Total D last year, giving up 216 ypg on the ground. MSU ranked 8th in Total O last year, rushing for 233 ypg. Yes, Josh Robinson is gone. But, he only rushed for 87 yds on 14 carries in last year's game. MSU has a stable of RB's that will all get significant playing time in this game. Ashton Shumpert will get the start and he is the same size as Prescott. Both are about 6'2 225lbs. The biggest stat last year is that MSU only had 1 rushing TD. MSU had 5 passing TD's and a blocked FG for a TD. MSU's WR's are bigger and more physical than the USM DB's. USM has one DB over 6 ft. Also, keep in mind that Diaz coached against this offense last year while he was at LT. LT had 5 sacks in that game. MSU had 3 sacks in last year's game. The other reason is that MSU has LSU on deck. MSU is not playing McNeese St here. Yes, LSU is a huge game. However, this is for recruiting in the southern part of MS. The backups will play, but they will also score. This is the same scenario as when MSU played at S. Bama last year. MSU won and covered that game as well.

Not sold on either D. Both were awful last year. Expect both O's to score, especially UNC's.

Last night was flat out ugly. UNC will be a solid fade all year. 6 trips inside USC 25 and only got 13 pts? It's a long season. GL tonight! :toast:
