Don't tell Bazata, Niemann or Bower that. gl

I'm not too worried a dt and few likebackers. Allens gonna want to show off his arm here as they don't play many quality teams.. losing rugamba is important imo... ly as a true Fresh he was pretty damn good. His backup this game is probably ojemudia. He saw some action last year, good size at 6-2... however behind him are a bunch of freshaman. Hankins "whose been looking sharp in practice" is next in line. Hankins is a true freshman. I don't think Hankins will be as good as rugamba is...Jacksons not bad on the other side... also losing Snyder was huge. Just an fyi as you probably know there Hawkeye Bazata spent much of the offseason in physical therapy, and conditioning... his first "football action" since Ly was here in august.... plus does ferentz want to go all out here against a non conference opp game 1....with what little he has to work with this year? On both sides of the ball? With Iowa st on deck ? Probably not...

Also let's not forget not only was king a play maker on defense but a stud in the return game... when you lose as much as they did on both sides of the ball i think it brings the team down ... knowing your not going to be as nearly as good... theres no excitement at all in practice when I popped my head in. Sure they have a good o line (soft imo) and Akrum is a stud... but knowing what they have this season is he going to run hard ? Or keep himself healthy for the draft ? I guess we'll find out. Seasons almost here :0corn

I don't like Wyoming in this spot at all. I feel like everyone is on the Allen hype train and that drove this line down. Wyoming has what receiving threats? 25 of Allens 28 TD passes graduated. The most experienced pass catchers they bring back have 21 and 11 catches respectively.

Allen is a major talent and a 1st round draft pick but he can't do it himself and the defense sucks. They let UNLV score 69 on them last year.

James Butler is a big time player and I think Iowa is going to run them to death with Wadley & Butler. Wyoming sucked at stopping the run last year and Iowa has 2 legit big time RB's.

Hawkeye what do you think about the run game and Butler?

gl on the Cowboys...I'll be rooting for em, love their head coach...wish Nebraska would have hired him...Iowa has its struggles and tend to win ugly...I fear it is a bad match-up for the Boys...With the vanilla game plan Iowa will use I could see them rushing for 300+ yards and keeping the Cowboys off the field...I'm staying away from this one but will be watching for sure, gl

Salty makes good points. I am anxious to see the transfer from Nevada run. Yep Iowa will run--alot and have a good off line returning. Think Wyo will miss Hill. My big ? is he Hawk QB--gl

Sure they miss Hill 6-1 220 that guy was a beast. However like I said Allen wants to improve his draft stock . This is an important game for him. Big question this game imo is the loss of price. Maybe they'll put this kid Dumas in there... true fresh i think... 6-5 200...

And honestly I think even Ferentz is pullin for this kid deep down inside..... ferentz just gave a million buck away to charity a few days ago... pretty awesome guy. His job is secure until he wants it to be. No way they play tuff here. (Hope not) loss of price is big
