Anyone have any early thoughts on the Week 2 games?
As an Illini fan (sigh), I noticed the line was 10/10.5 & when I checked today, I saw it was 7.5 which had me :shrug: . I think our offense will be decent enough to score a few points so long as we're not facing a top-tier defense. However, our D is absolutely atrocious & Banks is a terrible DC (blame Beckman for running Koenning out of town). We couldn't even get a single sack against SIU while giving up 5 to them. The win total was 3.5 & I had a tough time coming up with 3 wins if things went well. I honestly don't know how we'll stay competitive in most games. I would expect a bad ATS number for us again (something like 3-8 last year) & several totals going over the mark.
I also noticed Nebraska a 4 TD favorite to Southern Miss? Seems high to me with the Husker D looking less than impressive as of late.
tOSU laying 27.5 to an Aztec team that just turned it over 5x & lost at home to EIU by 21.
I unfortunately haven't done much research on non-Big 10 teams b/c of grad school but I know IU (Navy) will be in plenty of shootouts & MSU (EMU) doesn't have the explosive offense to be blowing teams out of the water.
