Syracuse returns 2 great TB's in Reyes and Rhodes. They also have a veteran O-Line, a experienced TE and a Sr. QB in Anderson who will try to lead this team. The D has 7 returners, but will need the most help in the secondary where they will be filling 3 spots.

UNC got in a game last week (if you call that a game), but will be hungry to get some O going this week. Syracuse had major problems in giving up yds (avg. of 500 yds/ game:eek: ) last year!!...UNC won last year 30-22....i think Syracuse will be wanting a bit of revenge, and will try to run all over the Heels!

Taking Syracuse -2

Air Force -8 vs NorthWestern

NW: will not add mcuh once i do a preview on a team from the previous week, if i played for or against!

AF:
O: Sr. QB Chance Harridge returns to lead Air Force around the wishbone once again. Harridge rushed for 95 yds/game and individually scored 22 TD's! The O-Line is the key to this explosive offense and they are more than happy to retuen 4 starters there.
D: They return 8 returning starters (RS's) for this years campaign. The secondary is the major area of concern where they need to replace 3 spots.

I might be picking on NW again, but i like Air Force to cover this line.

Taking Air Force -8

UVA (-3) @ USC
USC:
O: Only return 2 starters from last years team...is that good or bad, though? The Gamecocks squeaked by UL-L 14-7 last week. Many things will need to be addressed for Holtz to win this week.

D: The best part of the team is at the LB's, at least with the experience factor. USC needs to find reliable CB's for this team to be competitive this year

UVA:

Schaub was hurt in last weeks game against Duke, but backup QB Anthony Martinez filled in nicely. The Virigina offense is good all around and can continue onward without schaub for a least a little while.

I still go back to the better ACC team playing an average SEC game (like the Ga/Clem game in reverse) and like the Cavaliers at -3

Going with UVA -3

Oklahoma (-7.5) @ Alabama

Alabama:
O: The O-line looks solid. RB's look dependable. The Offense will only work with how well the WR's can find spots and catch the ball!

D: The LBs are the strongest area of the 7 RS's from last year.

Alabama is 3-3 when hosting a #1 ranked team

Oklahoma:
O: The only slow down for this offense is the experience they return with 4 RS's.
D: 10 RS's! They are lethal at any and every spot.

Ok. beat Ala 31-21 last year in Norman.

Will buy the half point and roll with the Sooners at -7!

Mississippi (-8) @ Memphis

Memphis:
O: Good QB in Wimprine. The biggest problem will be at the O-line where only 1 RS comes back!

D: The defense looks good with 9 RS's with the biggest strength in the LB's

Miss.
O: 2 words: ELI MANNING. The Sr. QB has a lot of pressure this year to produce and will get a good chance to display that against the Tigers. Miss needs to improve their running game (last in SEC last year). The experience at WR will open up the O for some W's this year.

D: 8 RS's return for the Rebels to make a pretty solid defense. THey should have no problems against lesser teams IMO.

Memphis is 0-13 vs SEC since 1996!!

The #1 passing offense of the SEC last year will be put on display in Memphis this weekend.

Will buy a point to be safe: Mississippi -7

UConn (-15.5) @ Army

Army:

O: The O-line loses 4 of its 5 starters form last year:eek: ! THey have 2 good WR's in White and Alexander. This offense wil be decided on which QB they choose: Dahman or Nevels.

D: The good news is the they have 9 RS's from last year. The bad is that they have to do better than allowing a league-high 210 yds rush/ game!

UConn (see write-up from last week) had an impressive win last week and will continue to roll with them

Hate laying this many points, but will hope they cover!

UConn -15.5

Watch out for the Ole miss memphis game. Memphis D cord Joe lee dunn knows eli better than eli knows eli. Memphis has best team they have had in 30 yrs which isn't saying much. Remember the #1 Vols and Peyton manning who came to memphis in the late 90s. Memphis won the biggest game in school history. Look for a close game this weekend. Ole miss has no defense and no running game and memphis has both. Watch out!

Maryland @ FSU (-14.5)

Maryland: Played lackluster against the Huskies last week. N. Ill wanted it more and they deserved that win! Stupid me for thinking the ACC was any good after they beat WF last year!:nono: The Terrapins now get the team they were concerned about in the Seminoles and we will see if they can regroup and contend for another ACC title like 2 years ago. Mcbrien will have to be a lot better this week for any chance of a victory, since RB Perry is still doubtful for the this game.

FSU: Totally dominated the Heels last week. They own a 13-0 record against Maryland. The last 2 years have been pretty bad in the series.

Regardless, i think this will be a fantastic saturday night game. I am staying away from this game, but i did pick a side, i would take the points. Maryland seems to play better against good teams.

Leaning MD +14.5, but no pick at the moment
