Balt -3

3 ill-timed turnovers kept the Ravens from getting back into the game with the Browns last week. The defense still looked very strong, but the offense was off. It's possible the Ravens took the Browns lightly. They can't afford to go down 2 games in the division, Lewis and the boys should be focused.

The Steelers had no problem shutting down the Raiders weak run game last week, but this week they will face a stronger challenge. Pittsburgh's pass defense showed some cracks against the Raiders and the offense was far from impressive.

I see the Ravens coming and dominating the Steelers on defense, while putting up more than enough to win. I'll buy the hook in this game, but I don't think it will be a factor.

Hou +3

The Texans lost 4-0 to the Chargers in the turnover department and ended up losing to a much weaker team. A sad start, but I don't think it will side track the bright season ahead for the Texans.

Detroit won last week because they had a huge plus turnover margin and returned a blocked FG for a TD. Despite giving up almost 400 yards to a lame Bears team the Lions won on the road.

To me this is a nice spot for the Texans. They had some pressure on them all preseason and into the 1st week of the season that they were going to be the next Carolina, but came up short. Now that week 1 is past, I think they will play a little more loose this week. The Lions on the other hand, I think might be coming in a little overrated. Their defense was shredded by the Bears, yet found a way to win. Although I think the Lions are much improved, this might be a tough spot for them.

NO -1.5/St.L +8

I really think Atlanta is overrated and I think the high powered Rams will expose them this week.

The Saints run defense is weak, but I don't believe that Dorsey can take advantage of the Saint's secondary if the New Orleans loads up for the run.

Buff +3.5

The Bills lost to a very tough Jax. team on the last play of the game. Although Buffalo's offense wasn't great they were up against one of the better defensive teams in the AFC.

Oakland struggled early against the Steelers before almost pulling out a win in at the end. The Raiders showed no ability to run the ball and that could be a weakness all season.

To me this game figures to be played solid defensively with 2 veteren QB's looking for their 1st win. I think it comes down to a FG.

NY Jets -3

I really like the Jets offense. They had their way with the Bengals defense and that might not prove to be so easy later on in the season.

The Chargers got a huge lift from 4 Texan turnovers. We all know that Tomlinson is awesome, but Brees is coming back to earth this week.

Generally playing a fav. on the road is downright stupid, but the Jets can and will score at will on the Chargers, while I don't Brees can do 2 weeks in a row.

Kdogg21,

I like Detroit to have a much better year than last, but I think this is a really good spot for the Texans. Not only did the defense get a little beat up by the Bears, they also lost Bly for this game. For me, the Texans are the best play on the board.

Wash -2.5 -125

So hard to lay off this road favorite. The Skins are superior to the Giants in almost every way and NY seems to be imploding under Coughlin already(go figure).

The Skins will come with the pressure and the Giants will not be able to move the ball offensively. Meanwhile Washington should be able to grind the Giants defense down and by the 2nd half the Skins should be having their way with NY.

Recap:

Saved by a 65 yard pass from Bledsoe on 4 and 18. Up until that point I was headed for the dumpster thanks to a 10-2 turnover deficit from the Skins and Texans. Considering the final scores from Det/Hou and Wash/NYG, if the turnover ratio was just a little closer, both could have covered easily. However the reality is I went 3-3 and will have to get back to the battle next week.
