I see alot of cappers around here taking Rutgers, I am just curious as to why your taking Illini
I see alot of cappers around here taking Rutgers, I am just curious as to why your taking Illini
A lot of cappers are taking Rutgers? Maybe because Clem is on Rutgers? That would be my guess. Anyway, here's what I'm thinking in a nutshell:
*Senior quarterback (Brasic) vs. sophomore quarterback (Teel). Teel had 2 TD's and 9 INT's last season! To say I'm not sold on him would be an understatement.
*Illinois beat Rutgers last year 36-33 at home. I don't think these two teams have changed drastically from last season. Therefore, 10.5 points is way too much in my opinion. In fact, I think Illinois can win this game straight up.
*Rutgers was +48 in rushing yards and -89 in passing yards last week vs. UNC. That's -41 total yards on offense. And you want to lay 10.5 points with the Scarlet Knights?

Rutgers running game looked very good last weekend... but look at the D. I wont be laying anything on this game.. but i love rutgers and i hope they win by 10.4 points :142smilie
My thoughts Wise is when have you seen the rutgers a double digit fav.? I cant remember the last time. Zook at Illinois has a chance to show himself this year. So i like the illinois play b

Payne, good point, but there's more to it than that. In my opinion, Rutgers shouldn't be favored this high based on last week's performance. I just edited my original post, because I ended up getting 11 at mybookie. Best of luck to you this weekend!

The one negative for ILL is, 0-15 on the road. Not one player on this team has one a road game. 11 looks like to many but ?
bryan, good point! I'm assuming that trend is 0-15 SU? I'm not predicting a SU victory, although I won't be one bit surprised if it happens.
By the way, did I mention Sydney Rice (South Carolina) might be the most dangerous offensive player in the country? No one player can guard him one-on-one. You've gotta' watch this kid tonight if you haven't seen him play!

There is a kid by the name of Smelley at qb for USC who graduated from my high who got a liitle playing time last week and if Mitchell struggles early watch for this kid to come and steal the show.
Wise, my point was, even if the 0-15 is SU, they haven't won as a group on the road, just wondering if this is a major mental hurdle , can they keep it close if they don't win. My leans are with you on ILL & Carolina. I hope you win. I don't see why Georgia warrants the respect they are getting @ the windows.
