CWood.....I like Miami as well. IMO they will be motivated by the fact they are dogs in this game.
Should be close however, I think the Canes D is the difference here, plau the loss of Bush really hurts the Cards in a game like this....FWIW, my best bet this week is Fresno St -3' over Washington, take a look at it....GL and have fun in South bender

gl WOOD. what's your thoughts on that MICH "D" can they slow up Brady?

I think the defense will be fine so long as Lloyd allows the new DC (Ron English) to stay aggressive throughout the game. Woodley/Jamison/Biggs/Crable should have a field day across from true freshman Sam Young. Harris will be tested also.

I believe UM will come out strong and take a nice lead, but I do not trust Lloyd to step on ND's throat and keep them down. We shall see.

I should also note that I've heard Kevin Grady may be out for this game. This will hurt UM in short yardage situations. If he is out, watch for true freshman Brandon Minor and Senior Jerome Jackson to get his carries.

Field Day against Sam Young and Ryan Harris :mj07:

Ryan Harris is one of the top five OT in College and Sam Young was the #2 prospect coming out of HS and is a beast 6 foot 8 340lb.

ND has struggled against blitz packages and Woodley is a monster, but you will be in for a rude surprise if you think you will get constant pressure with just the front four.

It should be a great game like usual when these two meet up. I think it will come down to a turnover or special teams. GL

Sam Young is under 300 lbs and 18 yrs old he is not ready for Woodley, I can promise you that. That had better get that kid some help tomorrow (i'm sure Weis will).

Harris has struggled plenty with Woodley the last two years.

To an extent, Carr is "in the stands" this year. He has delegated much more this year and the game is in the coordinators' hands. We'll see if it works.

Woodley had one sack last year... Penn St. fans were saying the same crap last week with Poluzinsky, Connor, etc... As far as Young is concerned we will just have to wait and see.

One sack and multiple hurries. UM also held ND to its worst offensive performance of the season, a lot of that was due to pressure brought by Woodley.

BTW Poz and Connor are LB's, not ends. Penn State had to replace 3/4 of their DL this year, so I'm not sure Young's performance against them is particularily relevent to how he'll perform against Woodley et al.

I should also mention that on the other side of the ball Michigan also has a matchup nightmare with Abiamiri vs Rueben Riley (who struggled big time with CMU stud DE Bazuin last week).

Young vs Woodley/Jamison/Biggs and Riley vs Abiamiri very well may tell the tale in this one.

I know both are LB's and I've mentioned Woodley is a beast on the end. Just responding to you saying they will have a field day. IMO The decision of this game will be based on how well the LB's of the Irish can stop the run. They haven't done a great job this year so far and Hart is the best RB they will have faced thus far. Another factor is how Michigan can stop the passing attack...None of the LB's on Michigan can cover Carlson. However, If they can get consistant pressure on Quinn all game they will have a chance to win. Either way it should be a great game.
