Just some info on Lester. He will play and will probably be around 90-100%. He looked great in practice today and the neck is still just a little stiff. Tuberville said if the game was tonight that he would play. Just thought you might like to know.

Penn St (-28.5) over Temple
Demoralized and Heart broken the owls walk right into a buzz saw. Temple really did not look good in the UConn game. If anything Uconn played just outright to lose and Temple would not take the bait. DiMichle isn't really going to win the game for them. He has a good completition percentage but he has not seen a defense like this in such a tough place to play. He won't win the game because he lacks a supporting cast. He is the leading rusher on Temple as well. So Penn St can worry about one player and tee off on him. His best option is Francis at WR but he is average at best and does not see alot of balls thrown his way. I have to think that Org st is a much better team than Temple and the beavers were out right owned at Penn St. How do they handle this game with Ill on deck is the question. Penn State's defense allowed a total of minus-5 yards in the first quarter and only 42 yards through the first two quarters. The d-line for Penn St even with the suspensions has been unstoppable. PSU will be all over the Temple offense. What is even better than that is the PSU offense has looked very sharp and they have something to work on in this game which is ball control. The lions fumbled three times against Cuse and I am sure they want to be more efficent in this game which is very bad for Temple. The owls will be in trouble on both sides of the ball and even with Ill on deck the Lions at home should handle DiMichle and crew.

VT (ML) over UNC
UNC looked great against Rutgers, they were efficent on offense and the defensive front was making plays all game. Brandon Tate is quickly becoming an unbelievable player. So this is when Bud Foster needs to make a statement. This statement will be one like the last game agianst GT. Stephan Virgil and Macho Harris will be all over Nicks and Tate and that is trouble for the UNC QB. His best otions will have playmakers guarding them and they should not be open as in past games. The tarheels have struggled to find a running game and the hokies will not be an easy unit to run on. On the other side the Hokie have found a runner in Evans. Again Beamer is loyal to older players so Glennon and Lewis should play but the playmakers are Taylor and Evans. VY attemptd about 15 passes against GT so I do not think they will try to light it up through the air in this game. The O-line of VT started to look good last game and with the young guns for VT they need to have another big game. I was not sold on Rutgers so I am not sold on UNC even though they looked good. VT lost to a very good ECU team and beat a good GT team. This will be a hard faught game but I think the VT defense will not let UNC reach the endzone a lot. I think UNC will struggle with keeping Taylor in the pocket and I expect he is the exfactor in keeping the UNC defense fustrated all day. Beamer will know the importance of winning this game and he will have his boys ready to go. Time for Bud Fosters lunch pal kids to play with a chip on their shoulder.

EDIT.... JBBrown... I heard he looked good in light contact. Is he going full? I would think it would be tough for a guy carted off the field to have the same mental toughness when trying to scrap for those tough yards, thanks for the info.

WVU/Col OVER (56.5)
WVU has to establish its offense and colorado should be able to handle their defense. Close game punch counter punch.

0-4 to start this week
Last night was fun, 21 points score in the first 13 mins and then blah. WVU kicker posts it from about extrapoint distance... awesome. The WVU coaching staff was just down right predictable. And HOW does a QB even a 3rd string QB struggle to throw the ball to a wide open reciever 35 yards away.

You all might want to fade this card after my start.

Baylor (+12) over UConn
Thank you L'Ville, now the huskies have a reason to look past this game. Considering how good UConn has been at home this will be a tough task. What I like is the UConn passing attack is lead by a guy in a bit of a funk. He is completing 59% and has 1 TD to his 4 picks and he really has not faced the toughest secondary. This is a running team and Brown will carry the load. He has 8 TD's this season and a ton of carries in 3 games. They have a decent size line but Baylor does have some players that could be a match up problem. Baylor is No. 35 in the country against the run, but UConn is No. 5 -- and Brown No. 2 among individuals -- in the country running the ball. So the bears need to pull it together and get to Brown who will more than likely be the player of the game. Art Briles will not committ to Griffin as his QB and I think that is to take some pressure of the kid, but when he is in there he is dangerous. He is a big strong kid with a lot of speed, if you have not seen him play enjoy it tonight. I am not sold on his passing ability, in that offense a low completition number is normal but 4 TD passes is low. Those are low because of Griffins ability to scramble and thats why I like him in this game. Pat White gives UConn fitz and I think pat white is VERY overrated because he does not like to throw the ball, he would rather check to a run. From what I have seen of Griffin is he doesn't mind either can do either but needs to make the right decision to keep the huskies on their heels. Just like Brown for UConn Griffin will be called to lead Baylor. This is a game UConn should win and considering the Dogs have covered both nights, I am worried it is time for a favorite to blow the doors off a team. Still I like the dimmension Griffin brings to this team and they should keep clawing if the get behind. UConns defense is No. 8 nationally in points allowed and has been air-tight against the pass. BUT they have faced anti spread offenses (UVA, Temple and Hofstra). I am interested to see how that defense will preform when they cannot put 8 or 9 in the box, IMO it will expose the in pass coverage and run support. I think UConn gets a little over blown because they are not bad and sneak in a big win occassionally. But in the last two years they have not turned that corner. In 2006 they beat the scraps on the Sched and snuck up on S.Fla, Last season They did not beat Pitt and Indiana But lost to Cuse. In fact of Edsells 8 years at UConn only 2 seasons finished above 500, one at 500, and the rest below. I know he is a good coach, but I like Griffin, the spread, the points and a little over hype.

Thank you Baylor....
Small Plays
ECU (-7) over NC St
ECU had a bad game last week so they need to rebound and a poor NC St would be a nice team to do that aginst. NC St beat the pirates last season so they should have some revenge on their mind. I like the defense against an NC St team that has some holes on the o-line. I think ECU will be able to run the ball very effectively and cash in for points. NC St has talent but they just need some more players before taking that next step. The Pirates also have the edge in special teams.

Houston (-6.5) over Colorado St
The cougars spread offense iss looking good and putting up points and watching Colorado play I was not impressed so I think even less of Colorado St. The rams defense will struggle and the cougar defense can key on the running game and stop what the rams want to do on offense. Being on the road is tough but the more houston shreds the defense the more the crowd will go from cheering against them to cheering for the rams to catch up.

Buff (+32.5) over Mizz
AT Nebraska next week should have the tigers looking past the Buff. Buffalo 2-1 coming off a hailmary win against Temple might have the hopes flying high. Well high enough to show up in this game and lose by 28. They will not quit and they have a QB that is good enough to muster a few points.

Wake (+4) over FSU
Not sure if the noles are over hyped but Wake has beat at FSU before so they will not be intimidated. The decons have a solid unit and they are good in every position. Speed everywhere in this game but Wake is a very good well coached team and I think FSU might not know how to handle a team that is on the same level as they are. This is the first test for FSU so I'll take the points and the team that has shown the abilty to win in the ACC over the past year.
