Season Stats: 12-5-1 (+9.60 units)
Last Week: 6-2-1 (+3.80 units)

THREE STRAIGHT WINNING WEEKS!!!

1. Oklahoma (-22-1/2) over TULSA (2 units)

Tulsa/BYU was bombs away as far as passing goes. BYU does not have the receivers of OU nor the solid play of Bradford. Neither Tulsa nor BYU has the secondary of Oklahoma...or the entire defense for that matter. So, I don't expect this game to be all that close like some are fearing.

Like a lot of you, I don't call for blowouts all that often because if you do and it's close, then you look like an idiot. But, I'm here to tell you not to be deceived by Tulsa's game against the Cougars this past weekend because it's entirely different. I don't expect the Sooners to let me down. They are taking this game seriously, I'm sure. Sooners win 49-10.

2. Georgia Tech (-3-1/2) over VIRGINIA (1 unit)

In 3 games, the Cavs have put up total yard marks of 100, 324, and 350. All 3 have been to defenses far inferior to Georgia Tech's. Virginia has also given up 6 sacks. I think the Yellow Jackets can add to that number.

The secret to beating Virginia is through a solid running game. Wyoming gained an impressive 199 yards on the ground. If GT runs successfully against UVA on the first series, it's gonna be a good day.

thanks crusher! Here's the writeups for the other picks.

3. Florida (-23) over MISSISSIPPI (1 unit)

It looks like Ole Miss will be switching quarterbacks as senior starter Seth Adams strained his right shoulder in the second half of the Rebels' 31-17 loss to Vanderbilt. Brent Schaeffer, last year's starter, will get the starting nod if Adams is unavailable.

It's now obvious that with the Vanderbilt game in the latrine, the only bowl Ole Miss will be bound for this year is the Egg Bowl.

4. NEBRASKA (-22) over Ball State (2 units)

Bill Callahan practiced the Huskers in full pads this week for the first time since preseason training camp. On Sunday, the team watched the film session from the USC game as a team instead of doing it by positions. The team hadn't been called together to do that since 2005.

The physical, up-tempo week of practices pitting the first units against each other should spark a change in the Huskers.

Ball State has just 2 rushing TD's this season. Last week, the Cardinals won despite surrendering 521 rushing yards to Navy.

Nebraska is undoubtedly eager to get back to action and the Huskers need Keller to cut back on the turnovers. Expect him to do just that.

5. Michigan State (-12-1/2) over NOTRE DAME (2 units)

The quarterback transfer situation has affected the mood of Notre Dame. If the players don't feel that Charlie Weis made the right personnel moves for the right reasons, in the position he considers most important to the team, then they could start to question him.

Notre Dame has been outscored 102-13 this season.

Michigan State is tied with Penn State and Indiana for the most sacks in the country (17). Notre Dame is last in the nation in sacks allowed (23).

The Fighting Irish rank 119th (last) in total yards per game with 115.0 ypg. Florida International is 118th with 180.3 ypg. In other words, ND could get 375 total yards this game and STILL rank last!

6. CENTRAL FLORIDA (-7) over Memphis (1 unit)

UCF treated its fans to one fo the more memorable weekends in school history when it opened Bright House Networks Stadium last Saturday. The Knights were unable to pull a stunning upset, falling 35-32 to Texas.

Junior Kevin Smith ran for 149 yards and 2 TD's against the Longhorns. Smith is leading the nation in rushing and averaging 5.9 yards per carry.

UCF is a perfect 7-for-7 in red zone occasions this season (5 TD's, 2 FG's). Memphis is 5-for-10.

The new stadium will be filled with 40,000 for the Black & Gold this weekend. They didn't even leave when the lightning was going on! The noise affected Texas and UCF now has a true home-field advantage.

7. Georgia (+3-1/2) over ALABAMA (1 unit)

Alabama gave up 301 yards on the ground to Arkansas. Georgia's Knowshon Moreno and Thomas Brown have been successful and will need to establish themselves early.

The Bulldogs are averaging 30.7 ppg this season adn 360 total yards per game. Opponents are scoring just 15.3 ppg against Georgia. UGA is doing an outstanding job on 3rd down as opponents are making good on just 22% of their conversion attempts.

Tide Receiver DJ Hall has a quad injury which leaves him questionable for this weekend's clash.

Started off 1-0 this week with a win on OU :00hour

Writeups for above:

8. Penn State (-2-1/2) over MICHIGAN (4 units)

Chad Henne's status is day-to-day. It's hard to imagine Henne playing, given how guarded the Michigan athletic department has been about his entire situation.

#10 Penn State has more to prove. While the Lions are undefeated, and have rolled up the scoreboard in each of their wins, they've somehow managed to leave an unpleasant taste after each one.

A win on the road would breed confidence.

Penn State is ranked eighth nationally in total defense.

I see the fans at the Big House watching their team on the wrong end of the scoreboard for the 3rd time this season.

9. Oregon (-17) over STANFORD (2 units)

Oregon leads the Pac-10 in scoring (46.3 ppg), total offense (519.3 ypg), rushing (325.7 ypg), and passing efficiency.

QB Dixon has completed 65% of his passes for 565 yards, 7 TD's and no interceptions as the Ducks are 3-0.

Stanford's secondary has really struggled, so it looks like it's going to be a long Saturday for the Cardinal defense.

Final 3 plays of the weekend to bring the total to 12.

10. Florida Atlantic (-7) over NORTH TEXAS (4 units)

After giving up 79 to Oklahoma, North Texas surrendered another 45 to SMU in a two-touchdown loss.

FAU comes in 2-1 following a 42-39 win over Minnesota. The Owls led that game 35-14 at the half. FAU QB Rusty Smith tossed 5 TD passes in that one.

11. New Mexico State (+16-1/2) over AUBURN (2 units)

If the Tigers can't get a handle on their miscues and have to go back and forth between quarterbacks, the team is going to struggle from here on out. The best thing for the Aggies to do in this case is to attack early and put the pressure on the home team to see if Auburn can respond accordingly.

Auburn QB Brandon Cox has 2 TD's and 6 INT's. The Tigers' pass offense is rated 97th in the nation (167 ypg).

12. Purdue (-13-1/2) over MINNESOTA (3 units)

Last week's loss to Florida Atlantic exposed how bad this Gopher team actually is. Minnesota has given up more than 400 passing yards in each of their first 3 games. Can you imagine what Painter & Co. will produce with that high octane passing attack?
