Week 5 picks with current line

Episode #5 (no plays in #1): "Pros vs. Suckers"
It's all about how reg. line bets fare against teasers.

Hate to make season long threads cause ya gotta go through the long thang every time. BUT, I'd like to see exactly how this matchup goes at the end of footsball season and having it all in one thread makes that easy.

Off the top of my head, I know this... .
Week 2 (initial post) the teasers ALL cashed (3 or 4 tickets) and the reg. line bets didn't do well. Score one for the Suckers.

Last week (4) "Pro" bets (reg. line) went 4 for 5 and each losing teaser were in ticket A and the other one in B, killing both teasers and both were absolute disasters as far as luck goes. BTW, I'm pretty sure that Ohio St. game covered with the line I posted which is what it was when I posted but it missed per the CLOSING line by 1/2 pt.

It's hard to tell what happened in week 3 the way I posted that week. I will make this thread and future ones better to see score. BTW,

This week
Posting DUKE + 2 1/2 now to make sure the game starts AFTER I write it. IMO, not making that + 3 or even 3 1/2 IS for Suckers.

Might as well list the teams I'll be using in teasers with the current reg. lines NOW:

Duke + 3 (compromise between 2.5 and 3.5 - I think this game may be close and that is a plus when handicapping teasers. Not so good for reg. bettors.

Oklahoma -27 - more units on the tease ticket with this one. Teams like these and teasers go together like .. . Ah, "Love and Marriage?" ♪ ♪ ♫ ♪♫ (Dating myself with this ) Ooops almost forgots - check out the QB situation on this game.

Washington -7 My figures got Huskies the better team and I usually like to fade teams that won their last due to Fluckin luck, penalties, and blunders by their opponent. Playing away should really boost this plick as well.

Old Dominion -3 IF I was a Pro, I might even accept -3 on this one. They held up well vs. decent enough teams, how bout covering the spread by 16 pts. vs Virginia in their last game? Besides, I equate E. Car with Mass.

Rarely happens but I got a M.L. upset special this week - Oregon St. +135(Hmm.. OK, mini upset)

Been doing EXCELLENT with the NFLer that I usually add to my reg. parlays. Never happened in the past but I'm doing better (%) on the NFLers than any body else, Think it's 3 outta 4 or even better?Strange. I don't have one for this week yet but I will find ONE, and only one. Reply if you want to see it later.

Also edited the Oregon St. thingy.. MONEY LINE bet is +135

Almost thinking about playing like the Pros do again, but last season's results with taking the sucker bets route and mostly avoiding all them dang near misses sez, :director:"Don't do it!". Sure glad I stopped. No problems sleeping on Fri. nights since doing that. :bed:

For me, I actually used 3 more teams that I came up with after posting here and 2 of them covered the teasers; one did not. I'm not counting them here because I didn't post them.

I played 2 tickets with teasers, one reg. parlay, and one single play on Oregon St. game that reminded me of the near miss crap outcomes. Both teasers had Oklahoma in them and one was for 2 1/2 ($) times the other one, it was a 3-teamer with Ok, Oh.St, and DOOK. That one cashed. The plan was that I just knew that I only had to risk beating two teams cause I felt that Oklahoma was a certain winner.

Visitors might think about throwing a dart at next week's picks :shrug: ... so far(2 weeks) it would have been 7 outta 9 chances of hitting a wiener! If my luck continues that is. REALLY--> I thought about pounding Okie shaved down to 23 1/2 as a single play with a 4 or even a 5 unit bet; didn't do it because I'm not ahead enough yet to do it.

yanno - If you stop in, to answer your question - all teasers this week were for 10 extra pts. Looks like you're throwing money away in the case of Okla.. and maybe even with Ohio St. It's just a case of having enough confidence about getting it all back plus the winnings after you win it. IMO, the value of making you much more likely to win outweighs the extra cost of doing so provided you did a good job capping these games along with a bit of GOOD luck AND maybe sticking to limiting teasers to 4 games. Maybe, if you get way ahead of the game, try a 5 teamer if " you just gotta try it". I did .... .. . ONE time last year. :s2:
