Next week in Minneapolis the Packers will roll in likely as at least a 3 point favorite and maybe up to 5 after knocking off the Dallas Cowboys in dramatic fashion. We won't know until later tonight how the Vikings will be, but to be honest I am more confident the Vikings beat the Packers on Sunday than beating the Bears tonight. First off the Vikings rarely win in Soldier Field no matter what it looks like on paper but back to Sunday. I think the Vikings match up well against the Packers and the Vikings are a more balanced team.
No doubt Rodgers is the best player on the field and barring injury will be the NFL's MVP but he can't pass protect for himself and he surely can't play defense. The Vikings should destroy the Packer's offensive line and unlike against the Cowboys, there won't be receivers running around wide open and big holes for running lanes. If we look at the Viking's loss against Detroit it was a game dominated by the Vikings, they fumbled the game away. They harassed and knocked down Stafford time and time again, the Vikes were able to move the ball but Kenum missed wide open receivers and sure handed receivers dropped the ball. It was one of those games where everything went wrong and they just could not stop shooting themselves in the foot.
The Vikes offensive line has dramatically improved since last season and I see them controlling the Pack D line as well. The Vikes dare I say it and can't believe I am saying it have tremendous wide outs who have found their game with Shurmur and with Bradford playing tonight it will give them one more game to get into groove. The Packers have always hurt the Vikings by sending big blitz packages but the Vikings have been much much better picking up the blitz and look for Bradford to connect on big plays down the field to Diggs, Theilen, Flloyd and Rudolph.
I know it sucks picking against Rogers but give me the team who has big play ability with the better defense at home and probably fighting for their season after Monday plus the points.
