Arkansas at Florida (-24.5, 57.5) 3:30E CBS
The SEC can be an unforgiving league, just ask Arkansas off Auburn upset 44-23. With Ole Miss on desk, they will have played Alabama, the Tigers, Florida and the Rebels in five week span. The Hogs are 10-3 ATS as SEC road underdogs and will have to do better work in giving QB Ryan Mallet a chance to throw down field against Gators secondary. Florida proved just how good they really are at LSU and will try and keep marching ahead. Florida has had their way with the Razorbacks and has won and covered seven straight. The Gators have chewed up SEC competition with 10-2 ATS record since last season.
Cent.Michigan at West. Michigan (+6.5, 58) 3:30E FS Detroit
This is not the season Western Michigan envisioned with 3-3 record. Opposing teams have not respected the Broncos ability to run, placing everything on QB Tim Hiller. The eight new defensive starters have not measured up. The Broncos are 3-6 ATS in the first of two or more home games. Since losing at Arizona 19-6, the Chippewas have reeled off five consecutive wins behind QB Dan LeFevour. This is the first of three straight road games and Central Michigan is 7-2 ATS as less than 10-point favorites. The home team is 12-5-2 ATS in this series, with the favorite only 4-7-1 ATS the last dozen years.
Hawaii at Idaho (-8, 60) 5:00E GamePlan
This is a first, Idaho being talked about and not as sacrificial lamb. The Vandals are 5-1, their best start in 15 years, thanks to QB Nathan Enderle and relentless teammates who don?t quit. Idaho has been an underdog in every game this season and keeps pulling off upsets. Try this on, the Vandals have been favorite once (last game 2007) in last 36 games, until this week. They are 0-5 ATS vs. Hawaii. This is the Rainbows fourth road game in last five outings and they are 7-14 ATS as WAC visitor. Hawaii is tossing Bryant Moniz to the wolves after losing Greg Alexander at QB and failed at home 42-17 in last contest.
BYU at San Diego State (+17, 54) 6:00E MTN
The Cougars have to be careful not to peek too far ahead with home game with TCU next. BYU might not have BCS aspirations, however being Mountain West champions is important. The Cougars are 12-2 and 10-4 ATS against San Diego State. The Aztecs are 2-3 and shown dramatic improvement defensively, holding teams to 309 yards per game. San Diego State can start rebuilding image with a home upset, but are nasty 0-7 ATS as a home underdogs of 14.5 or more points. BYU is known for fast starts, yet are 2-9 ATS after the first month of the season of late. QB Max Hall already has 10 interceptions this season.
Stanford at Arizona (-4, 53) 7:30E Versus
Stanford?s power game wasn?t enough to hold off Oregon State and the Cardinal will try their luck in Tucson. Tailback Toby Gerhart is considered the key to stopping Stanford offense, which places strain on redshirt QB Andrew Luck to be able to throw the ball effectively. The O-Line has kept Luck?s jersey clean and the road team is 10-3 ATS in this conference clash. Arizona opens three game Pac-10 homestand and will need continued solid play from QB Nick Foles to secure victory. The Wildcats are 1-5 ATS against Stanford and the last five meetings have been defensive struggles, with 35 total points the average when they?ve met.
Northern Illinois at Toledo (+7, 59.5) 7:00E
This will be one of the deciding games in determining who will win the MAC West. Northern Illinois has had two weeks to prepare for dynamic Toledo offense. The Huskies have to continue to create turnovers and play keep away with running game and controlled passing. NIU is 2-8 ATS at Toledo and still remembers 70-21 loss in 2007. Give credit to Toledo seniors after three losing seasons, they bought into new coach Tim Beckman. His faith in the seniors has the Rockets playing good football and they have walked these Huskies with 13-2 and 11-3-1 ATS record. Quarterback Aaron Opelt leads Toledo?s aerial assault.
Kentucky at Auburn (-13.5, 56.5) 7:30E ESPNU
Coach Gene Chizik popularity has risen faster than Glenn Beck?s with Auburn?s 5-1 start. To Chizik?s credit, he?s hired exceptional assistant coaches. The Tigers are not flawless, being exposed from time to time with undersized defense; however the offense has made up for this averaging over 38 PPG. Auburn has won 15 in a row over Kentucky and is 5-1 ATS in last six as favorite. The Wildcats aren?t a bad team, just in the wrong league to show improvement. QB Mike Hartline must be proficient if Kentucky expects to match scores with Auburn. Kentucky is not too bad 11-7 ATS in second of two road games.
Missouri at Oklahoma State (-7, 57) 9:15E ESPN2
Another Big 12 team has to regroup with star receiver Dez Bryant reportedly done for the year with NCAA violation. This leaves a void in Oklahoma State offense which was not that smooth to begin with. At least they will be in Stillwater where they are 22-13-2 ATS in league home tilts. Missouri suffered a disappointing 27-12 home loss to Nebraska last week and has to regain composure in a tough environment. The loss was crucial since after this contest, the Tigers will tangle with Texas in Columbia. At least Missouri is 7-0 ATS in road games in the first half of the season over the last three seasons.
