Don't give a crap about spreads just yet. Here's what spots I'm looking at:

Baylor over Iowa St - Iowa State was up 20-0 on a ranked team before losing it. That has to be on their minds as they go on the road to Baylor.
Penn State over Wisconsin - If I only make one play this week, this is it. Might make a 1st half wager on the Nittany Lions on top of it.
Fresno State 2nd Half over Idaho - Idaho flat out sucks, but I need to see just how flat the Bulldogs are coming off the OT loss to Hawaii. I doubt I make any play here, but I might.

EDIT: Deleted Syracuse/S Florida game......one week too early.

fan club 2

like penn st alot

Thanks Alan, you always wish me well and I do appreciate it.

I think Penn St is probably the only play I make, but I want to see how the others I listed pan out. I've been focusing on teams that are coming off significant losses....and betting against them. It really only plays out when facing a "solid" opponent the next week, but I have noticed that they come out flat against the chumps...before tearing them apart in the 2nd half.

I will join that club if you keep plotting out 2h plays 6 days before gametime.

Smart strategy, I like it.

Best of luck.

You're not feeling appreciated? Count me in as number 3 - but there's no way I'm even looking at Syracuse. . . or Penn State

No, I'm feeling just fine. I just got a little bug up my ass tonight.

We're usually thinking along the same lines, so I'm surprised you don't like a hot PSU team rolling in against a demoralized, newly unranked, newly out of the Big Ten championship picture, Wisconsin club. Oh, and they should be nice and bruised up after that rough game against the Buckeyes. This is a great spot for the Nittany Lions. My only worry is that the Badgers could be getting too undervalued here. Either way, 1st half PSU is a solid play.

I haven't watched the Badgers game with Ohio State yet except for a couple of drives, but . . . I did watch all of Penn State this week.

I'll take a look at the beat down in more detail, but from what I saw from afar, they looked like they were getting the best of the Buckeyes.

Played:

Penn State -5

If I have any concerns, it is that it is at Wisky and the Badgers have their backs against the wall. I still think my strategy is solid here in that Wisky has to be second guessing themselves and once again wondering how they blew it in the second half.

Similar thought process but opposite approach to me. I look for teams coming off big wins (especially upsets) who are building in national hype. If they are facing an opponent with any chops, then I'll take the points.

Example from last week was Alabama coming off "upset" of Georgia facing a Kentucky team thatis above average.

Without regard to the spread, I usually just like taking the opposite side of the overall public opinion of a program. Notre Dame comes to mind a few weeks ago. (Don't read this as betting "against the public". I think that's just bullshit.)

Two things with all that being said:

1. You can count me in your fan club. :142smilie
2. Not a single situation is jumping out at me this week right now.

Would Auburn -18' over Arkansas qualify?

I have found these spots that have peaked my interest. My mind is all over the place this morning.

Miss St
South Carolina
Oklahoma St
Miami (OH)

I also think the tide is against Georgia at this point. The general public was just waiting for them to fail. Now that it happened, is this line adjusted for that negative perception? I just don't think this is a very bettable game.

I don't like Arky because they are (1) just plain awful and (2) just got thumped by Florida. It is important that the "other side" is ready to play and coming off a win.

The Georgia game is one that I'm not sure about. For starters, they did have a bye week and second, they are playing at home against a Tennessee team that isn't exactly flying high after that performance against Northern Illinois.
