Washington

The Jets are looking ahead to the Giants. They are also one
day removed from their ''leader,'' QB Chad Pennington, bolting
camp to be with his ailing father. And also one day removed from
the supposed ''savior'' running back, Lee Suggs, failing his
physical and making a round trip back to Cleveland. Distractions!

"I think we are going to try and get all of the quarterbacks involved
over the weekend," Jets' coach Mangini said. While the Jets go
through the motions in a weeding out process destined to fail -- their
QBs are surrounded by new OL and new RBs -- the Redskins are
playing the home opener with system-familiar veterans, with a
new offensive coordinator ready to amp it up without drastic changes to
it, one week after they totally stunk it up on national TV and
getting only 3 points in Cincinnati. Washington will utilize more of
the playbook here, against a defense that is in the early stages of
a transition to 3-4.

Jets' QB Patrick Ramsey, playing with supposed motivation against
the team that let him go means nothing here. He is on the road, he
hasn't practiced enough with the ''1s,'' he doesn't have the overall
support, and he isn't very good.

The Packers have a brand new head coach, and this is his first home game. There will be ten of those qualifying situations by the time this pre-season ends, and you should be shocked if at least 60% of them don?t cover the pointspread. This is the proverbial point-to game for Green Bay?s Mike McCarthy and staff, and this franchise is hungry for any ?W? it can get to help rebuild the bandwagon after a lot of parts have been blown out. After the starters, Atlanta?s defensive personnel leave a great deal to be desired ? unlike the very nice, balanced San Diego two- and three-deep that the Packers ? as strongly expected -- could not dent last week. Favre?s early cameo probably gets his first points of the season this week, and the Packers also have a slight edge with last season?s Atlanta offensive line coach Jeff Jagodzinski now running the Green Bay offense. When you want to win ? as McCarthy prior to last week?s loss said he did indeed want to do ? intimate knowledge of the other side?s personnel is a crucial edge towards reaching that goal. Atlanta DC Ed Donatell would have a grudge against the Green Bay franchise that fired him a few seasons ago. But to him, Green Bay now represents an unfamiliar system with a lot of new players. To him, there is no use in seriously preparing. Just throw your guys into tough spots and audition them. Meanwhile, if last week?s QB situation still holds and Michael Vick will not play much, expecting last week?s decent output from Schaub (overrated), Shockley and Randle with the reserves is not a line we?re willing to buy. Packers are certainly the team with more of a game-plan here, and indoor/turf team Atlanta plays outdoors on grass.

A second half full of rookie QB Gradkowski handing off for off-tackles and throwing dinks and dunks, against a defense in style transition, was good enough to make a margin for the Bucs against an opponent with a soft middle D and no offensive punch (NYJ). Tonight is different, because unlike down-trending NYJ, the Miami roster has been visibly ?juiced up? by Nick Saban. Because Gradkowski saw so much action last Friday night, the other Bucs? QBs (Rattay, McCown, and #1 Simms) are that much farther behind in game action. Rattay and/or McCown, stuck trying to open it up with the 2s and 3s, may not cut it. The Bucs will probably be more wide-open with veteran QBs as back-ups, and more depth on the OL than was available last week.

As an athlete, when you play the Patriots, you will usually see something you haven?t seen before. In the pre-season, you are even less prepared for it than you might be in a regular season game, because you?re not on the field for very long and you might even be a rookie. When Dennis Green has an offense with some muscles to flex, he gets serious about winning in August. Patriots? declining defense will allow as many yards on defense as they feel comfortable with, but Arizona?s lack of running game (Edge won?t see much action) plus the Cardinals QBs? lack of red-zone mastery, will stall the Arizona offense as the field in front of them gets shorter.

wow great calls this week...2-0 thur, but gave it back fri, only to KILL it today...Ray you honstly are one of the streakist gamblers i know, you either KILL IT, or gt killed, and usually ur killing it...you seriously should bet on those books that pay for "almost hit" parlays where you still win if you gt 8 outta 9 or 6 outa 7 and et etc, i know alotta books got them...especially being the big parlay playr that you are... QUICK QUESTION: I REMEMBER YOU NAILING ONE OF THE RIDICULOUS PARLAYS (MAYBE EVEN MORE THAN ONCE IF IM NOT WRONG), CAN YOU JuST REFRESH MY MEMORY AND TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU RISKED TO WIN HOW MUCH ON YOUR BIGGEST PARLAY YOU EVER HIT?

great day, 4-0 if im not wrong, you only had a write up for Wash so not sure if you played it, when you have a writeup like that does it mean your playing it? I really wish I could get a feel for your units, not how much $ wise, but like when you say big or small or just post a play, i wish I could tll how much ure putting on it in comparision to your smaller or bigger plays...anyhow, great day, 4 wins and 0-1 losses

what i do is play my strong games with the local book, to be honest i only play up to 5 games a week with the local, but play parlay's off shore,
if i have a bad day , i don't loss alot of money , because there small parlay, but pay big with the local book! i am very careful with my straight bet$
the biggest parlay that i never hit was for 52 k. yes i may lose alot of parlays but went i hit them . its for nice piece of $$$. when the season starts i will put my units down, and only put the games i am playing and my lean as lean only.

i did played the vike for a nice bit of money . has info that the vike were going all out for last night game!

For all intents and purposes, the Colts' 2005 season ended
where it began ? on a flat note. Indy laid an 0-4 egg during
the exhibition season last year, then lost to the Seahawks
late last season in Seattle, 28-13. That game, a ?letdowndeluxe?
for the Colts, came right after Indy had just seen
its 13-0 start come to a crushing end against San Diego.
Seattle head coach Mike Holmgren has sucked wind in his
2nd preseason contests, going 4-10 SUATS, including 0-6
SUATS this decade. Also, can?t ignore the fact that the Colts
are a mind-blowing 42-6-2 ATS in SU preseason victories!
